You're listening to the Wisps wasatch in wasch wasatch investigative studies wasatch investigative studies of paranormal science show Which apparently is yet another acronym for a super natural hour of what are you doing this to me man? It is going I hope this is nice. This is a nice little set up here You know the studio is a little bit more comfortable I do not know we don't have any cuz we're sitting on couches seriously armchairs I'm like a whole eight feet away from Castle. I don't have to it smells body order even better I'm so close to my concresis head if I'm on which one Whoa, obviously I love them.
I'm so happy living has a big change PG-13 rating on a red box. We're gonna go straight to art from now on I walk in the pod bash you are listening to the Wisps show. I and your host castle to my right is the ever-present lurch ever present ever present That's me. Yeah, you're always there like a bad penny keep showing up I know you're like every investigation in fact if lurch doesn't show up I wonder what's going on cuz things things have got horribly horribly wrong.
It's the Latin You know I have to actually comment on that because we actually had a residential investigation last night And in the basement of the song the homeowner told us that one half of the home in the basement was kind of creeped her out And I was down there with one of our investigators Colton and we were talking and I kind of mentioned that And lurch came down. I thought you know I wonder if we're gonna get any better responses if he starts talking Latin And I didn't say without even say anything. I didn't even say a word and it wasn't ten seconds later and here comes the Latin And see and I went for your latin to start. I'm not a one trick pony.
I don't know. I'm not a dog I don't perform a command do it do it. Oh Straight across from me. We have silent dawn and And He's nodding yeah, I'm not even trying to mind his way out of a box and then we have the end Hello, and the new addition to the show is Tim the slob whisperer.
Yeah, that's me. I guess that's what they call me He loves that nickname. I love it so much next time you see me come shake my hand and say hi Tim the slob whisperer And I'm read my belly to edge you punch this not my fault I'll just put that up there. He a punch.
It's not my fault You know, we're actually gonna talk about the case that gave you that name a little bit tonight is part of our show I'm so excited before we get going though. Let's talk about let's just contest for those who are listening to the show We actually recorded this same show a little over a week ago And I'm thinking we talked about this last time. Oh, yeah It's gonna be better this time because I'm here because last time you make everything better our studio equipment Just like functioning away. We were done actually actually it was an awesome show You just could hear everybody but castle and he had an issue with that Which would have been Exactly I think we should have put that one online if we never would have been like that was the best show I'm close enough.
I can unplug his mic and we could just switch board right in front of you You know, and we you know So let's talk about their just photo contest you had your photo contest I did who were our winners Alica rose I think I pronounced your name right Alica Wilson rose and You put me on the spot. I meant to pull up the names first so well he's looking at We actually never did announce the winner of my photo contest and it was Michelle Burns So Michelle you're you were the winner of the Texas photo contest Okay, no, she's no longer the winner of the contest I hate frisas I Actually really impressed with was a Alica or was it the other one who figured it out? It was I want to say her name is Shoot Thomas and or not. Yeah, Marcy Marcy Thomas.
I'm sorry Marcy Thomas Sorry Marcy with that we're gonna Alka Wilson rose. I think Alica is the one who got it first wasn't she no I think Marcy got it first Marcy got it first because she was doing recently now This is how she figured it out because I was actually really kind of steamed Oh, it was so quickly it was awesome because I happen to be on I do a lot of computer stuff So I happen to be in front of the computer and I saw it go up like seconds after the second picture went up And so I'm like all day. I'm sorry hurting erased the guests because I wanted the contest to go the longer But then you texted her yeah, how she did it and you know I give her complete credit for for all the detective work investigation We're here was a little I was a little steep because I was trying to make them not so obvious But she cheated no no no, but I She's a cheater she's going to hell she's not going anywhere with us now I definitely tip my hat after I was saying what happened was she had the first photo that I pick I put online was a picture of the Tulsa Oklahoma Airport and She had googled different airports she knew that as a runner and so she looked at a We were talking about your feet a lot on there Yeah, she should look at schedules for races across the country and then compared those locations with the airports at those cities And she was able to make a match between the Tulsa Oklahoma Airport and knowing that there's a race that we can in Tulsa And so she had posted the answer you deleted it Yeah, almost a couple more pictures and then find them got a second winner Yeah, and I want to do that because I wanted the contest to go a little bit longer Yeah, because we got two pictures up. Yeah, so what are we doing as far as the prize goes on?
I know we talked about an investigation. Yeah, let's do a private investigation You know us as a group and then and this goes this goes for mine too So I think one of the things we're talking about is doing maybe Caffeineo maybe doing a residential investigation Now here's the catch though. I've talked with lurch briefly about we talked about doing some public locations which we've done before like Caffeineo We've I've also mentioned that we I'd be willing to take it have to be one at a time On a private investigation of the residents if we do that show you don't get to take a plus one It will just be you in the West team because we can't like 12 people in some house Right. I don't want someone's residential best case to be a side show But if you want to come as a I'm using my air quotations here that you can't see silent on doing air quotations too for whatever reason but No, they're not if they do if they come you're gonna be coming as an investigator in training I don't want it to be a side show basically since we'll be investigating someone's home And you'll actually find that residential investigations of and I'm gonna let them choose if you're okay with that large Yeah, and we've got equipment So, you know if you need to borrow some equipment We've got enough to go around but all you really need is just a flashlight a smartphone that has a camera and I mean And honestly my favorite investigations, I mean I like all of them But if I could only pick one I like the residential so they're my favorites To me it's kind of toss-up.
I really like the public investigations because I really I like people are fun I like to meet people I like to talk to people And I like going to some of those big sweeping venues. I just like to talk no I would have never guessed Wow, but uh, oh He said a word wow I don't know what to do that's amazing So you like to talk I like to talk and so I like I like the social atmosphere of the public investigations of the venues we get to go to her Oh, they are and I don't dislike them But like I said the thing I like about the residential is I feel like I'm doing work as opposed to putting on a show Yeah, well the thing I like about the private residential investigations It kind of varied though because like we did one last night and I had a blast last night last night So there wasn't a lot of activity, but we were able to figure out a few things. I haven't gone through my audio Yeah, I've got about four hours of audio because I took two recorders But like last night was awesome because there was two people in the home. There's no kids no dogs It was quiet.
It turned off the heater. Yeah, it turned off all the only thing I noticed there was a Road and so I kept getting reflections and I finally said it's there a street there and they said oh, yeah But other than just the some car reflection there was no But even listening to my audio there's no contamination because everything is tagged And so that's the nice aspect of residential investigation I have been to some residential investigations and we kind of had to change our application not our application but our contact form On the WISP website because we've been to a few where hey, what's just going to our house? I mean by my whole family cousins and uncles and nephews neighbors and you know and know dogs if you're one of those don't be offended But it's just it's very hard to investigate when you've got 10 people and I totally get people inviting it because how often do you have ghost investigators come over but as You know, but it makes it really really hard It makes it you don't get as quality. Oh, I did we did one I'm playing city and those are some of the nicest people I've ever met and we had a great time in that That's a really good investigation.
I think we're outnumbered what like three to one there's three of them to one The mess again that was a problem though. So when I spoke to my audio There's a lot of side conversations going on that absolutely nothing good the investigation It really made it really difficult to to go through the audio because you could hear someone talking about the latest But ball scores, which you love you know, you know City politics and things of that nature and so it's hard when you get a lot of people there But anyway for those winners of that contest we are going to Contact me. I think you both might get There's three and I'm friends with them on Facebook now so I can keep in touch with Marcy and Michelle I see how it is. I'm not friends with Michelle.
We're not friends with me. I spoke We keep talking about I'm just kidding. I mean not that I'm not friendly with Michelle But I just personally Talking about the two winners there's three forget about yeah, but for my personal Facebook status not I know I know we'll be in contact with you all yeah We'll be in contact with the end we'll let you guys choose if you want to come on a residential investigation or a Public in my say public it will be more of a public venue, but it will be with the West team So it's not gonna be like a whole bunch of people like if you were coming to a chunk investigation It'll still be private. It'll just be a private list I probably was an investigation in a public venue as private best way to say it So there's that for that contest should I mention the other venue that I'm looking into you know, yeah, let's talk about that That's gonna be fun.
I'd like to do that video because originally, you know We were thinking about fear factory and I would like you back to for factory It's been two years since I've been for factory and April 14th of 2014 was my last perfect They they're willing to let us you know use the venue which need to know when unfortunately the cost per person is a little bit steep Right, so you know, we'd like to be able to bring both the winners to there with their plus one But that would be close to $200 to do that for them. Yeah, and I'm cheap I broke we have talked and you know, we need to do another contest in the not terribly distant future fear factory's a Kind of it's an indoor slash outdoor location being there's buildings, but they're not heated or cooled So it's hot in the summer and cold in winter. That might be a good wind spring or fall venue Yeah, so all we have to do is just give them a date and they can reserve that time So right now the cost per head would be about $45 So if there are any listeners other that do want to come with us then, you know, I would be able to see whether we're a kind of a Whisk slash listener investigation exactly. We'll cap it out a small number So what I call semi-private investigation.
Yeah, so it'll probably be one-to-one with team members to people who can come Yeah, and you guys want to do that as a contest or would you guys just want to open it up and I think it's just open That's not okay. I mean, I'm not out to sell tickets, but that's what the cost right? We're not out to make a dime on it. It's $45.50.
I think it's what they said covering costs check That's a big enough venue. We can take lots of people Yes, but it is a dark venue So it's one of those places that I've really wanted to go to for a long time I went through the pond of attraction for Halloween two years ago And that was my first experience with the fear of factory and I thought man This would be such an awesome place is before I started investigating You know and when I was there I had a ton of activity in fact I actually took the SP seven spirit box down into the bowels of the fear factory the bowels of the fear of factory and Do you go to the bowels often? No, you can't prove anything But I went down into the depths of the fear of factory and it's a big concrete structure And so you get down where radio doesn't work because you're under-grounded concrete structure And so it's really interesting using the SP seven spirit box down there Stop to the LA Yeah, yeah, my parents must stop to that So we're back on we're back on by the way, you're gonna have to forgive us We're the new studio and when five-year-olds come down to ask if they can use the internet And they're not talking about fear of factory. Yeah, that's yeah, we're just things out a little Please continue to train a thought that's a growing past a new studio You guys miss all the fun conversations while we try to figure out how to fix that But I'm gonna do it in this production.
Did we start over or just just a new continued? Just a new file. Okay, everybody cares about I mean just cut it right here We're not it's just it's fun. Fear of fact.
Oh, so I was down in the bowels of fear factory. That's where you go Deep in the bowels. Yes. Deep in the bowels.
Gary goes deep in the bowels. He likes to play in it I Mean with the six-year-old it's like that scene in Jurassic Park where they just died right in the huge pile of You know dinosaur X-craps. Okay. We're all dying to know what happened at fear factory.
We still am So I took the SB 7 spirit box down there and keep in mind I'm down deep surrounded by concrete walls and the bells so radio signals do not work down there So there's no way that anything you're gonna get is gonna be a stray FM signal because you can't get FM signals down there It's so it's really interesting because the voices you'd get on the SB 7 just because of the fact you couldn't get FM signals down there Were actual I mean you could tell they were when you got something it wasn't radio So because that very factory was a fun location, but when you want to skip a better. Do you want to go spring fall? I fall usually back to you. I'm just I'm having fun with this Do you see I'm like kicking back in this lazy chair?
He's a recliner recliner Dan's over there like trying hard not to laugh but you can kind of hear her a little bit in the microphone giggling Just don't post that please They're mining a laugh I think March where we think about March. It's been March spring. So yeah, we need to come up with final date We've still got it's three months away. So we've got plenty of time to kind of pin it down now Or do they want to deposit?
I don't believe they do but to depending on the number of people right now I said about maybe 12 to 15 okay to rent the venue the cost per person is I think $50 $50 I had $45 $50 head after double check the email that I got okay Well, I will get something up on the internet as soon as we get those details finalized and we will cap the tickets out So it'll be a very small group probably about the quarter of the size of a regular pod bash investigation And I think that's why they said the tickets were forty five or fifty dollars because the number of people to cover the the rental For the location so I think if we get more than 12 or 15 the price might come down I don't know well It's like to keep it relatively small just for the sake of yeah I mean you can get into groups of three or four and have three or four different groups And there's plenty of room to spread out You've got a little bit of the background noise from the highway which is right there But you know that was going down side to that venue as you do get a lot of contamination from freeway But since you know what it is It's not too bad because you it's easy to kind of self-filter when you're listening through to your audio But yeah, they did an episode of Ghost Adventures about it and so if you want to kind of find out a little more about the history of the Fear Factory it's good episode. I think it's season nine Jess Jessica Rice is in it. She used to be one of the workers there one of the actors the actors act towards acting Speaking of a ghost adventures and fear factory this month just a week ago Zach Baggins is one of our favorite people big ins back up You know he is kind of a douchebag But you know of all the ghost shows They do it best because their format is is pasting off You know the first half of the show is usually like you know Invent not a mystery they provide history of the provide history they do interviews with different people I really love that about his show. I love learning the history like I learned a lot about fear factory watching I don't know but I do know he also fakes a lot of stuff Yeah, cuz I've talked to several actors at different venues that he's been to like fear factory being one of them Dramatic yes, but it's very it's for entertainment purposes and it's I still enjoy watching it But their format is good because they've got the the history and then they do the investigation they show the air quotations They get you know my favorite Example what Tim was talking about them maybe not being completely a fourth right there evidence was a sign on 49 I'm good friends with the owners of 49 and some of their staff there and They mentioned that when they came in they asked if they had any EDPs they could use it they didn't get any of their own And so they were gonna that's the first rule of a ghost of yes you always go to the venue and say excuse me if we don't Get any evidence of our own do you have any that we can have?
I've heard I've heard it. You know at the fear factory I happen to I meant this girl at the bar that used to work there as one of the managers and in the end of the episode They have a kid reading out of the book of Satan and they beat the whole thing out because they don't want to invite anything bad Into people's homes actually found out from this girl He's worked there that the kid was just making stuff up He wasn't actually reading out of the book of Satan and then there was the kid Nick at the Rawlins penitentiary that told us when they were there Filming there was a scene where their camera fell over The mic hanging right over my head That looks dirty. That looks so dirty. Hey Don.
Can you hold the mic over your face? If only you can see this The kid at the Rawlins told me that when the camera fell over it was him holding a string and they told him when to pull the string They knock the camera over so you're kidding. No. Yeah, that's when that but the end was in my group with Heather And I think we had one other person but yeah, I'm done.
Of course. He was there I'm told this that they had him pull the camera over That's funny So there's no there shows still entertaining and I'm watching it the one that I started watching yesterday was this ghost asylum Of some dudes down in like Nashville Tennessee or something They actually build these like giant contraptions the one was this giant pyramid they had yesterday and they actually think that they can trap spirits And they're they're homemade traps like a like a Spusters yeah, yeah, yeah No, you know my favorite go show that was speaking of go shows as we got on that on a collector love on a quick That was really good actually first off. I love John Zafus. It's credible.
He's very credible He's actually a they call him a godfather of the paranormal. He is a nephew of Edmarine Warren And he has he's actually the process of making a museum for all the objects and object attachments that he has to you Know he always do I was actually watching mysteries at the museum the other night and they did an episode at his paranormal museum His current one or the new one his current one that's in his basement I said because he's currently he bought an old funeral home and is renovating a nice museum to put all this stuff off site So it's not in his home or in his barn He a lot of his stuff was in a barn in his backyard essentially So would he like allow people to do his basement just come and check things out if you want to show up? Yeah, I think you had to like schedule appointment. That's cool.
You could come to his house basically and see a Road trip right here we go here we go. Go to ventures actually did go to his house once and go to his basement So really I'm just asking more I got more speaking of goes to ventures They actually last week were filming at the family tree restaurant down Santa Claus right more we went where I was physically attacked by Brandy yeah, that was an interesting thing Yeah, it was a very interesting I think we talked about that last time Yeah, her name is peaches. Yeah, by the way, yeah You guys give me some confused. I don't like to start calling you.
Hey you be in peaches So we actually tonight did have a thought process that we were going to talk about should we segue to that? I think we're on paranormal safety. This is what we're gonna say Is that what you're saying? That's what I'm sure is about today's paranormal safety and TV shows Yeah, well, we got off on TV shows, but that's okay You know say something larger like no, no, I'm just I'm chilling.
I'm kicking back. He's getting ready for a Recliner do this like the perfect angle my back feels so awesome. He's creeping me the hell out All right, this is comfy. I mean compared to you know the the steel chairs that we had over at heffey studio That was a little uncomfortable.
This is nice. I totally kick back. I got a soda right next. I really hope he doesn't listen to this and hear how much you guys like hate his studio I love how you have a he is awesome.
I miss him Well, he let me paint a picture so I can understand because it's not that we don't like happy I love it. I've known heffey for years and his studio was awesome However, heffey studio was a little small bedroom in his basement that had been converted into a studio and it was really small It was like a bedroom for like a single person And we had all kinds of chairs in there and the chairs weren't like uncomfortable that they were Anyway, he had to sit really close together and there's these huge hulking. They were uncomfortable. They were uncomfortable.
Thank you Oh, silent on speaks. I was laughing at the faces he was making But uh You were in a folding chair? Yeah, they were just folding steel chairs mine had a little bit of padding on the seat in the back Mine was a paltter. Thank you very much.
No, not mine. Welcome. Anyway, it was a little cramp I guess it's kind of what I'm saying right now this new studio is in my basement in my big screen TV room when there's big uh comfy couches and recliner and a table and so there's no ugly mic stands that are getting kicked It's a lot. Not yet.
We've got plenty of cable so we just like spread out and yeah That's your thing. I can't mean to buy cable extensions for headphones, but we had to sit like three feet apart by each other because It was cozy. I'm just gonna leave it cozy. That makes it sound nice It was really fun when you know I came down and and peaches was there and there was like seven of us in that room Yeah, there were like three inches You were singing on my lap.
Yeah, I had to talk about the whole thing Mm-hmm. Oh that was funny. You guys were supposed to laugh. Oh wait.
Oh wait. Oh no safety My house. Alright, let's talk paranormal safety get out Okay, this is uh, I know we've talked about paranormal safety in the past as far as you know Not inviting things home with you. Um saying prayer before we leave a venue letting things know they can't come follow your home challenging spirits Challenging spirits.
We talked about that kind of paranormal safety. This is a little bit different paranormal safety and it's one I think it's overbooked Um, and the reason I want to talk about it is because of the investigation we did back on October at the Zions building We had kind of an incident and we'll talk about it here as we get going. But there's also practical paranormal safety. And let's start with just some general guidelines.
First off, if you're planning on going on a ghost investigation, make sure you're not sick. If you have a fever, if you have a cold, stay home. Tim's a germaphobe. He doesn't want you breathing your yucky germ's all business.
Yeah, you should see me do my floor on the white when I got here. I wiped off my headset. That's it. But anyway, if you have a cold, I mean, if you're going to someone's house or if you're going to public investigation, the 50 people to public investigation don't want you cold.
Or do they? Depends. Some people are just weird like that. Is there a figure for that?
Well, maybe they want time off work. You don't know. Yeah, they're going to be. Keep your time off work.
I've got cold. Yeah, sneezing my mouth. Wow. We went there.
It happens. I think I saw a Japanese video about something like that. There's men getting asking young girls to sneeze in their mouth. Okay, maybe none.
Wow. I thought I was bad. I love the facels. It's surprising that I was having fun.
So they're quietly shaking his head. You know, Japan's weird like that though. You can buy, use panties from a vending machine. Oh seriously, can we just do that?
You didn't go there. So let's go back to see if they're haunted. You don't know. It's a whole new way to the term object attachment.
Lurch the fact that you know that. Right. I have a friend that went to Japan and told me. Does that friend read Marathons and Tulsa?
No. Okay. Hey, regardless, if you got a cold or whatnot, you don't want to give it to clients. I don't want to be sneezing on people's mouths.
Yeah. So you can have a public investigation. If you're sick, we love you. Please don't come.
And I have to give kudos on our investigation family tree. We had three people cancel because they weren't feeling well. Yeah, I was one of them. I had the flu.
You dandered and then one of our guests canceled. And to be honest with you, thank you. And I even told that guest that if they wanted to go back, if they got a group of people together, we'd be happy to take them back another time. I'm always happy to go back there.
That's a great place. You know, I like that venue and I shouldn't, but I do. It's incredibly dark, but it is a fun venue. It really is.
You know, their food is actually pretty good. And it's a incredibly dark venue. I just like playing with Lucy that lives in the basement. My favorite part of that venue is the fact that other guests have a group of adopts of the name I've given that for two years.
I know. I'm also literally, you know. Okay, along with that, if you're going to go on investigation, drink a lot of water. I remember doing the Zion's building back in August.
Were you there with this large and large? Yes. And I think you were there. It was August or October?
Not this last time, but like the year before. Oh yeah, when I got attacked here, no. And we designed building in July or August? Well, it was the end of August.
And I think it was July the first. July was with the Chunga Haha. And then we went back on our own in August and then we did the Comic-Con one at the very beginning of September. And so I went back to the front and then it was like, oh, I want to talk about that.
It was like, I was trying to kill him. There's no AC, there's no central air. It's an old building that's already be torn down. You know, and some people can operate really well slightly dehydrated.
Some people are really sensitive to that kind of thing. But if you're going to a venue, especially when it's really hot, you don't want to be dehydrated. And that one was so hot. I remember taking, you know, go outside and cool off because the 96 degrees outside was cooler than inside.
It was toasty. It's a kind of thing where if you're in there, you can actually get yourself into some real trouble if you're too dehydrated. It's got a compromising your immune system. Not because I'm building is not spotless with me because the answer to me there's something that gets me into the ghost.
Exactly. The ghost. The ghost made. The ghost made.
The ghost made. The ghost made. The ghost made. The dirty, dingy building.
The chances of catching something there if you have a compromised immune system are probably pretty good. See in every investigation I go on, I bring something for peaches to myself. I usually bring a couple of hours of water and then like a can of like mixed nuts or just something to snack on to kind of. These nuts?
These nuts, yes. So I always make sure that we have something that keep ourselves hydrated and then something to snack on so we don't get hungry or anything else. Now the other thing I would highly recommend is get your shots. Well, I'm going to have to let you check your shots.
Wisky tequila? What kind of shots are we talking about? Penis, Producers to Thuria. I've got my hip round.
I'm actually reading these notes from a woman who specializes in paranormal safety that she gave to me and she says get the flu shot and I'm going to be honest with you guys, I hate the flu shot and I never get the flu shot. I get it every year. It seems like everybody gets a flu shot and gets sick and I never get the flu shot and I never get the flu shot twice and I've gotten the flu twice from the flu shot. Yeah, so I don't get the flu shot but to each their own.
It's because your week, your bodies are weak. Not weak. That's what the flu shot is. It's a weak in form of the actual virus.
And see I don't get the flu shot either. It's so weak that your body can go and create the antibodies for it so that way if you do get the flu then it's prepared. But because your bodies are weak, you just get sick from the weak in virus. Wait just a second.
When you say bodies, it only got one body because I don't get the flu shot. Yeah, I'm looking at you and I'm looking at you. I don't get the flu. Or the flu shot because I don't need it because my body's not weak.
I can get the full blown flu in my body. You know I'm just kidding, right? No, I know. Okay.
You're me. Okay, I'll kick you off. All right. Now along with that, it's generally a good idea if you have it to use hand sanitizer.
Some of the venues we go to, like if you go to family tree, unless you spend a lot of time in the basement, it's a pretty clean venue. It's a restaurant. And so it's a very clean venue except for the basement. But some other venues, signs building is one that comes to mind.
Do you say the basement wasn't clean? The basement's like dirt. I know, I'm just kidding. You said like two or three times.
Yes. It should be a hard time. I'd say grist mills another one that I don't know that I would say is terribly clean. It's kind of an outdoorsy kind of venue.
No, it's not filthy. It's just outdoors. And you know, there's rodents and stuff going through those buildings. And so probably not a bad idea to use hand sanitizer.
The other note that she has here is cover open source. I will tell everybody here. I like to air my open source. And I'm looking at him especially.
If you show up to an investigation with an open source, I'm going to kill you. And you're better than me going to be a piece when I do it because if you show up to a chunk investigation or one of our investigations with a weeping wound. I want to bleed all over every single one of you. On the side of your head.
You're not coming and you're not getting the refund. That just sounds kind of gross. Yeah. I've got these bottles here.
I've got a wee bit of a wound. Oh, it was a damp. It was just a touch of leprosy. It'll be OK.
OK. The hands almost off anyway. Yeah. I don't do well with blood.
So yeah, definitely stay home if you're. Yeah, if you have weeping source. No. Nope.
You're not coming. OK. Another tip that this woman gives us is immediately removing washer clothes and shower after an investigation. That one is one I'm going to throw out there as you're best judgment.
It depends where you're at. Like the only one who went to last night was immaculate. It was. They had a nice home.
Oh, and she apologized for her basement. And then I went down there and it was like, what? Well, it was unfinished floors. It was unfinished floors.
It was unfinished. But she had some storage down there, but it wasn't healthy. She had a nice workout area. She had everything organized downstairs.
The only issue downstairs is just, again, it was a carpeted. Yeah, it wasn't even dusty. Yeah, exactly. It was.
But the upstairs was beautiful. Yeah, it was. It was a beautiful home. And, you know, so I'm going to go to an investigation like that.
I've got a couple of specific uniforms, if you will, that I like to go to investigations. I wear three leaven pants because I've got a million pocket set on this. I can put all my gear in it. And I usually wear a whistle polo shirt.
Now, if I go to an investigation like that, we're going to be there for two hours in a really clean house. I may just throw those right back on a hanger in the closet until the next investigation because unless I get gross or sweaty, in which case I'll wash them. Now, on the other end of the spectrum. On the other end of the spectrum.
And I'm going to give two examples here. Benson Grissomel. He's pointing at me there. First night at Benson Grissomel, it was rainy and muddy.
And when I got home, my pants were muddy from walking around. Yeah, that's what they were muddy from. And there were snails, snails, remains all over my shoes. And anyway, those clothes went immediately in the wash and the next night I wore a different.
Wisps get up that I wore. And I'm not a smoker. I've been to a couple of personal investigations, private investigations, and the homeowners were smokers. And I leave there with the smell of smoke in my clothes.
And nothing gets smokers, but I just don't really care for the smell. So I'll take my clothes off and watch those really exactly. Now, an investigation, and this is all your motioning to Tim at. This is tips for investigation because this is where you guys are.
This is where the nickname came from. We don't usually talk specifically about how do I say this. We don't badmout their clients. We've had phenomenal wonderful points.
But this guy. He was nice. He was a fun investigation that I missed out on even though I was there. You carried out my work at that.
Okay, so this gentleman, and he was a super nice guy. He was a super nice guy. He was really cool. And it actually was a good investigation.
I actually showed up ahead of time with the team. And the only reason we're talking about this investigation is because it is pertinent to what we're talking about. It illustrates your point. And so I showed up to the home and I beat the rest of the team there by 10 or 15 minutes.
And so he invited me to the home. And this gentleman had these dogs that were kind of wolf dog hybrids. And I'm fairly confident by the odor that they lived in the home most of the time. The carpet hadn't been shampooed, vacuumed.
Probably, you know, a little bit back. Ever. There was a vacuum in the literally fine room. I don't think it has ever moved.
It might have turned out once. Not by him. As I was going through the home, there was a lot of articles. I got a text message.
Someone wants to talk to me. I know better to turn my phone off during these things. Well, you know, I am usually not here, so my phone's going to go on time with now. Shame on you.
I'd walk you to tell me. Welcome to Wonderful World Professional Podcast. Go ahead with your story. Hey, keep going.
So walking through this house, there was this aquarium. And this aquarium was an invisible snake. It was an invisible snake because I looked in that aquarium and I saw no snake and there was a dead rat in there. But he assured me there was a snake in there.
Oh, there was that dead rat? That dead rat had been dead for an awful long time. I think that that rat was an invisible snake. It was not a really dead snake.
It was not a really dead snake. Anyway, through that investigation, I had the end of this to get in the laundry room. Are you wondering if the laundry room got used? That was awesome because you just made like...
You all right? Do you need a breathman or something? No, that was knee deep in underwear. There was probably a good four or five inches of laundry and not really any place to stand.
And the laundry was visibly nasty. Soiled. Visibly soiled underwear. It was just mild.
We're talking like bacon strips. Yes. Skid marks. Yes, skid marks.
Major skid marks. You felt like you needed a hazmat suit to be in the room. Yes, I did. Anyway, so I walked into this home and this reminds me of a joke.
Go ahead. This gentleman invites me to sit down and I politely decline because there was really nowhere to sit down. And I had to kind of chuckle because this gentleman's daughter brought Ladybug into the house and he... Pardon my friend.
He about lost his chest. He might have already done it somewhere in the laundry room. He already did it in the laundry room. Because she brings in this ladybug and says, I'll get that out there filthy.
Ladybugs are filthy. I have my mother's house going. Right. Anyway, this house, it smelled like bears to live there.
Bless his heart. It was as unsanitary as I have ever seen. And keep in mind with my profession, I have seen a lot of unsanitary homes. And this was right up there at the top of the list.
In fact, we determined through the investigation that he had some kind of nasty living in the crawl space under his house. And we actually... That is where we all congregated because it was the cleanest, creak and parts of the house. All of us, except for one.
We got to go to the crawl space. So we're sitting in the crawl space and keeping the windows in the dirt for... You were sitting in the crawl space. And...
No, it actually had plastic. There's plastic on the floor. There's plastic on the floor. There's no spider webs in it.
Now keep in mind I hate spiders. Not a fan of spiders, but the spiders refer to everything else that we... It smelled good. It was clean.
You dared sit down. It was wonderful. Anyway, we asked Tim to go out and get cameras and tell us what happened to him. I thought it would be fun to use your full-spectrum camera that you just got.
And when I went to get it, I never made it back to the crawl space. I was sat down by the homeowner and he started telling me... Nice guy, I should have. He's really nice.
And he started telling me some of the... Did you get fond? We bonded. Really, we're best friends now.
You're bros. Yeah. I've never talked to him since, but we bonded really well. He started telling me stories of stuff that's happened to him throughout his life, different dreams, different experiences he had.
And they all sounded somewhat believable, but somewhat far-fetched at the same time. And his personal experiences of the haunting kind of got exaggerated through the night. Like at first he went and took a bath and the plug came out. Yes.
And then by the end of the night, the plug's like being levitated 18 inches out of the water and flying around the water before hitting him inside the head. Yeah. So what got me the nickname was, he kept telling me... Like every story he told me, he kept saying, you know, I've never told anyone this before.
The first person I told this to. And I'm like, thanks. And when I relayed this information out to the rest of the team, I got the nickname. Yeah, it was kind of funny.
It was kind of funny because he ended up kind of packing the home under the whole night while the rest of the team investigated. This saw bath was the most interesting part though, and he told him to take the saw bath. And it started out with, like Larch just said... There might have been all three of your motives behind this.
Okay, so just curious. I know the listeners might have the same question. I don't know. But the whole washing your clothes thing, like right after an investigation.
Is there any spiritual reason behind that? No, this is more like physical actual health safety. It's more practical stuff. More just kind of keeping yourself for being in my contact virus or something along those lines.
Getting tetanus falling downstairs to put that. Yeah. And just if you were the same close to investigations, six nights around, you're also going to have video and I'm just going to sit back. Well, that's just gross.
I like maybe I should wear my heels to the fear factory. What's that? I'm like I shouldn't wear my heels to fear factory. Yeah, when we started, when we started, we were going to talk about paranormal safety.
The first thing I did was look at your shoes and see if they had heels on them. Well, they do, but not heels. But, you know, not the signals, heels. Okay, so a couple other things, and this one seems a little bit extreme, but take a long carbon oxide detector.
I don't know if we've ever done that. It probably depends on the venue. Yeah, I mean, if I was going to go into the catacombs of Edinburgh or Paris, I probably would because... I guess we did all the time.
Well, no, I'm just trying to think of someplace that's like, fully enclosed. I would take a canary and a thick canary guy to back out. I would love to go to the Paris catacombs. I would just say...
Oh, I was watching a show on that today. It looks freaking awesome. Okay, speaking of catacombs. Anyway.
You know, like, I just like, wait, you're... You're doing the segue, you just took over. Yeah. Anyway, another thing, and I know I make fun of Zach Baggins, but a respirator might not be bad at it, depending on where you're at.
Zach Baggins is my hero. Especially if you have a weak endemian system, you probably don't want to be inhaling Hontavirus, ikis. If you're in a really dusty place, too, just getting all that dust up inside of your mouth and knows that I've been in place, and where I've worked with that respirator, and I've come home and literally sneezed this black goop because there's so much dust. Yeah, dust and mold and animal ways, things of that nature.
Let's talk about some more environmental type hazards, though. Like people dangers. And I know that we've had people ask me all the time when we talk about paranormal investigations. It wasn't that scary, isn't that frightening?
You know, there's been moments. There's the time of the family tree when I turned around and three quarters of the team was across the other side of the highway. We had to go retrieve them. But for the most part, I'm way more scared of people.
Like for instance, when Silent Dawn starts climbing, that kind of frightens me a little bit because I wonder about his... I have the perfect scary people story. Okay, tell us your scary people story. When we were...
Don and I took my son and a couple kids from Long Peak High School to the Marker Cemetery, because they wanted to do a story for the paper. And we had never been there before. We heard about it, and we went up this wrong road. And if you've never been there, it's out in the freaking middle of nowhere.
I mean, nowhere. And there's a guy standing there with a fire, and I'm thinking, why are you here? And we asked him, do you know where the cemetery is? He was like, no, I don't want the cemetery.
So we go up this hill and it's dark, and I'm thinking this guy is going to come and kill us, and I didn't have these kids sign a waiver, and I'm going to be on a TV show. You know, it's detectives telling their story of how they found... You know, my hair smashed to the side of this guy's car. I was freaked out.
Anyway, we finally found the cemetery, and the whole time I was worried that a creepy fire guy was going to come kill us all. It was creepy. And that's the thing is... Good story.
It was a good story, wasn't it? I don't know the last podcast. Maybe. Do we tell a story how Castle scared the crap out of me almost literally at the family tree?
I don't know if you tell that story or not. Oh, it was so much fun. I'm going to tell it really fast, even though we're probably going to go a hair log in this podcast. So there are people outside the family tree making a lot of noise, and everybody else was in the basement at the family tree.
And between the entrance of the family tree and the basement, there's a banquet room, and there was nobody in this banquet room. Tim went to tell the people outside to shut up because they were... Well, they were screaming, and I wanted to make sure everyone was okay, and I found out it was just other investigators outside smoking. Anyway, so Tim went outside, and when you walk into this banquet room, there's kind of a blind corner just as you first walk into your right.
And so I knew Tim was going to be back any minute, and so I just kind of stood in that little blind spot. And Tim walked into the room that he thought was completely abandoned. I go, hi Tim! At which point he jumped like six and a half feet into the air, which is a bit because he's about six and a half feet tall.
And then I literally fell to the floor. My heart was pounding. I was like... Clutching in his chest?
I think I looked up at you and I said, I'm going to kill you. At which point I actually retreated downstairs with their witnesses. If being your pants is cool, consider me Miles Davis. Oh dear.
So anyway... That's right. Thank you. When we do investigations, I always call and talk to him when I'm talking to first, because most people that we've experienced actually have issues going on at their house, their venue, whatever.
But every now and then, you'll run across someone who is just not all right. We actually had those people contact us and Peaches were straight and refused to go there because her grandmother and her spare guides all told her that if she went to the house, that she would die. Those people were basically trying to get us to the house to investigate so they could kill Randy. Yeah, in fact, that was an investigation.
That was weird. That, yeah, there was all kinds of red flags that cropped up. It was dangerous and we needed to not go there. And so that's what I talk about.
I talk about people dangers. Another thing is structural hazards. We went to the Benson Griss Mill and there's parts of the Benson Griss Mill that seem kind of sketchy, some of the stairs in the big mill. But generally, that's a structurally sound building.
As I ends building, it seems structurally sound, but it's actually, we looked at going back there and it's closed temporarily because they're kind of shoring it up. As you go up the stairs, they tilt at a pretty steep angle because that building is just not structurally sound. And so they're fixing it. So you have to be aware of structural hazards if you go somewhere that's old and falling apart.
Now, the next one on our list is near and dear to my heart and that is electrical hazards. For those who went to the Pod Goblin investigation to the Zines Building, speaking of the Zines Building, back in October with Ben Hanson. As we started at the beginning of the night, everybody was downstirring an EVP session with Ben and myself and another Wisp Investigator decided to kind of go scout ahead and see what was going on in some other locations. And then I went from the basement room where they're doing the EVP session to the boiler room.
I got a little zap on my arm. And the first I was like, whoo, whoo, whoo, I got zap by a ghost. And as I tried to debunk really quickly, I quickly saw there was a live wire hanging down from the ceiling that had brushed up against my arm. And so you got to keep in mind electrical hazards if you're in an old building.
I've actually got plumber friends who talked about doing plumbing in old houses, and they'll be short somewhere where the electrical in the house is touching a pipe. And as they go to do their plumbing work, they get shocked at touching the pipe. And so you have to be aware of things of that nature when you're in a house of that sort. Mold, mildew, those are things that always keep in mind.
We already talked about carbon monoxide. If you're crawling on an attic, especially in an older home, be mindful of fiberglass insulation and asbestos. If you're not careful, those can cause problems, especially those bestest. Also keep in mind critters.
If you're somewhere where there's a lot of mice, rats, you know, you want to be, and I've used it several times with a hontovirus and some other diseases that could be carried by those creatures. Not really a huge, possible problem here in Utah. I don't know that we'd run across any skunks. We talked about spiders, though.
Spiders are something here in Utah that you have to be careful of. Do you love spiders? No, spiders' snakes' ticks. I think we're going to be the big ones here locally.
Yeah, and snakes don't bother me. No, they're not snakes' bother me a lot. Spiders' not a huge fan of ticks, not a huge fan of. You know, and I could give you a list of diseases that you could contract if you're not careful, but just keep in mind with those things.
Now, the other issue I would bring up, and I've already talked about people dangers, and we've made an exception here for tennis law whisper, but mental health is an issue. Thanks. I feel you like that. Yeah.
Mental health is an issue when it comes to investigating. I are slow. I have not experienced it, but I have heard reports of people who get super obsessed with the EVPs to the point where they audio record everything and review everything looking for that latest EVP. If someone has mental health problems, I would probably recommend they not investigate.
You're just opening yourself up to the problems, to put it bluntly. In fact, speaking of, well, I'll give it to that a little bit. I've had people approach me who clearly have mental health problems asking about investigating, and you just kind of have to politely, especially can, turn them down. In fact, I had a gentleman contact me at a public presentation that we did, and was telling me about his daughter hearing voices all the time, and things of that nature and both of their hearts.
That was pretty funny. And I hate to be stereotypical. I know I offended everybody in the last podcast. I think I called out just about everything.
Can you do it again? No. But this gentleman and his daughter both... Well, it's like you'd say, so does anyone have any questions?
And she'd say, yeah, one time my cousin's sister was in the shower and she came out and she saw something in the mirror. That was a different person. Great. Thanks for the good question.
Does anyone else have a question? That ends up a question mark. No, but this gentleman and his daughter both look like they had some problems. It's probably the kindest way to say it.
And he came up and approached me and said, you know what, my daughter hears these voices all the time, do you think our house is haunted? And I said, and I sometimes I'll be blunt by trying to do it kind of diplomatically. I said, just read us your lithium. I think she'll be fine.
I basically just said, well, it could be. However, does she have any mental health issues? Oh, yeah, she's got lots of mental health issues. And I kind of knew that.
You could tell it wasn't. It was pretty obvious. I don't know any other kind of way to say it. And so mental health is something that has to be taken into account.
And I wouldn't recommend anybody who has mental health issues. Unless you're me, apparently. But Gary, I'm glued to a side castle. I said, you're only, I don't really care anymore.
Yeah, it's okay. He doesn't care. Obviously. Yeah, he's, I'm always like right next to the side.
So I'm fine because I have someone watching over me. Yeah, we make it. I'm talking about pocket against all of them. Okay, especially just the two of us.
I just, I've visualized that. Hang on about looking at me. What's in my pocket? I must trade it amongst for pack and cigarettes.
Except for I don't smoke. Wow. I love you guys. You know, it never hurts to take it just a basic version.
It cannot investigation. We don't. We probably should. I actually have one I can bring now that you mention it.
I've got one in my car. I think Peach's plan is on getting on force. You know, and I am terribly, terribly allergic to dogs, which I'm sure everybody wants to know. You're not allergic to dogs.
You just don't like them. I both. I like dogs are the best thing. I think it's psychosomatic.
We had dogs growing up and you were fine. Yeah, then when I'm a mission got allergic. Oh, that's what happened when you all are allergic to things? God was punishing me for not making it 6 a.m.
I woke up at 6.15. And I got allergies because of it. Well, that's your own fault. Don't blame the dogs.
Anyway, there are many times when I forget to take a leggar with me on investigations and they've got like a big, we went on investigation just last month that they had a dog that was probably a 600 pound dog. That was a big dog. That was a big dog. That was a great day.
I don't know. I'm exaggerating a tiny bit when I say it was like a 600 pound dog. No, seriously, it was probably about 150 to 100 pounds. For those of you who have met me, this dog makes me look small.
It was a huge dog. I could throw a saddle on his back and ride it around. Yeah, Tim is a big guy. So when he says it's a big dog, you can take that to the bank.
Anyway, but I always keep meaning to put some Allegro, which is what keeps me from being allergic to dogs. In my ghost hunting kit and I was free to tell myself to ask dogs, then I spend the second half of the hunt breathing and sniffling and trying to not die. As I wrote the tears from my eyes because it's so bad. Psychosomatic.
It's all psychosomatic. I need new friends. I brought you a fish. I got you a studio.
I need new people. What's your fish? Speaking of new people, by the way, we are still accepting applications for new investigators. If you go onto the WISP website, if you go to investigator requirements, there's a link for the application.
We have not started doing interviews yet. I would like to get about 40 applications before we do that. And not to hurt anybody's feelings. If you don't get call for an interview, don't feel bad.
I would like to get 40 applications, screen those applications, and interview the 10 best applicants. And we're going to bring on a couple two or three part time investigators as kind of our goal at this point. And we will basically accept anybody who hates our criteria, regardless of race, religion, physical disability. Or anything else that Gary might have said.
I might have said this. Apparently we don't want the blacks. Oros. Black Oros.
I'm actually a really good friend who she's black and I told her this right. She laughed really hard. Please apply. We need racial diversity.
Basically, we're going to discriminate against all white people, so everyone that's applied so far, sorry. That's not too far off. Anyway, if you're interested in investigating with us on a regular basis, please go apply. If you haven't followed you on Instagram, it's at Wisp.
Utah. I generally try and post pictures on there of our investigations tonight. I'm going to post a picture of Lurch, sacked out in my recliner. Dude, I am so comfy right now.
And I've literally got the recliner kicked back with the legs up. You'll see. And I've got the boom mic over my face. All I have to do is just kind of.
All he means is like a half naked wench with the fan of grapes. He's going to start purring in a minute if we're not careful. Anyway, but go follow us on Instagram. Follow us on Facebook.
I would like to get our mics up because I'm kind of narcissist. It's been fun watching it the last couple of weeks where it's like 6'11, 6'8, 6'9, 6'8, 6'8, somewhere in there. Keep going up and down. Stop unliking us.
I watch that closely. Then when I'm speaking about Oras and I say the black ones are out and you think I'm talking about black people, which I was not. We lose like 50 likes. Only two.
No, I'm just kidding. I wasn't that bad. Anyway, thank you guys for tuning in. I'm just going to apologize and advance to another show.
It was a little rougher than some of our past shows, but again, we're kind of... You know what we're doing, we promise. There's some growing pains with the new studio. Learning up the kinks of the new equipment.
We lost our experience studio technician with Hep A, so we're kind of learning this as we go. And just so you guys are aware, I actually... I'm going to try and get the quality of the show up to radio, roving levels, bars, the sound quality. I make a process for our content quality.
I think to do that, we need to go and steal their equipment and replace it with all the new stuff that we just bought. There you go. Anyway, if you guys have any questions, please email us your questions. It's always fun to talk about your questions.
