Things We Never Got Over

from The C.S. Café · host Crystal Santoría

You feeling this episode? Send us a text!Too many people are walking around with things they never let go of and they're bounded by the pain. Communication gets lost in translation. We tend to punish the future dragging the past behind us. We never go to therapy for it but we punish future partners and our children for our hurt. Others can see and so can we. Sometimes people choose not to get over it because they feel they can control the narrative. Baby, get over that shit! Go to therapy! Harboring pain for years makes your body pay for things you never let go of. Stress can form tumors that can be malignant and why should our body suffer for things we left unsaid or things we never communicated. Say what or who hurt you. Tell them how it made you feel. Talk it out. Listen to understand instead of trying to get your point across. Stop bottling up everything as a mechanism to cope. Stop shutting down when you hear what isn't palatable to you. You have free range to identify the problem, come up with how to communicate the problem, then say it with your chest without remorse. By all means SPEAK THE HELL UP! Get some help! Take your ass to therapy!Support the show
