Things We Take for Granted (PT 2) 02-Jun-2024.m4a
from Emmanuel Afiawari's Inspiration podcast · host Emmanuel Afiawari
Lamentations 3: 22 tells us that, "It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not." Anyone who does not recognise the Lord’s mercies live in arrogant denial. Such persons attribute all their results to self-effort. What a travesty and dangerous way to live. It remids me of the follish rich farmer, who boasted of all he would do with his great harvest. That night God required his soul from him (Luke 12: 13-21). We see this same dynamics play out in contemporary times. The increasing spate of arrogance, ignorance and insensitivity to spiritual things and God's presence raises a grave concern. Ironically, we belong to a generation that speaks in tongues the most, make faith declarations but live the opposite of those values. God appears only to be in our lips but farther from our hearts and lifestyles. So we have a form of godliness but deny the power (2 Tim. 3:5). If God walks in on you, would you recognise Him? Can you discern His voice?
