Third party provider sought to staff Summerhill View care home

Manx Care would need a ‘substantial’ amount of additional funding to staff and run a new residential home in Douglas. Summerhill View, on Victoria Road, is due to be handed over to the government in the spring. The 60-bed facility, built on the site of the former Glenside Home, will house some residents who are currently living at Reayrt ny Baie. But the health body says it’s now looking at bringing in a private provider to operate it - Siobhán Fletcher speaks to chief exec Teresa Cope to find out why.
