Third Sunday after Pentecost

Today Pastor Sieveking looks at the readings for Fourth Sunday after Pentecost, Series A in the Three Year Lectionary. The Lord continues to send laborers into His harvest fields to carry out His mission…to proclaim His Word.   His powerful Word always brings a reaction.  The prophesy of Jeremiah reveals that false prophets will seek to contradict it.  Paul’s letter to Romans reveals how some will struggle with the Law’s demands.  In the Gospel Jesus warns that His Word will cause division even within our families.  But, He continues to send us, His Church, with the promise, “Whoever receives you receives me, and whoever receives me receives Him who sent me.”
