Kate Gales knows this all too well, having ticked far more boxes around this topic than anyone would ever want. But it's precisely because of these experiences that Kate has become one of the most incredible people to speak to about understanding the world of someone who's faced the big C. Kate battled hard and beat breast cancer after being diagnosed at just 27 years old. With two young daughters to raise, she emerged from that fight stronger, pulling out the positives and living a life she loves with her husband. But five years after Kate’s victory, her husband Bob was diagnosed with renal cancer (and they say lightning doesn’t strike twice). With both a personal experience of surviving cancer and the challenge of supporting her partner through it, Kate’s journey naturally led her to become a beacon of hope and a resource for others. When I met Kate last year, I encountered a gorgeous, resilient, and strong cancer survivor, her face hidden behind a mask to stay safe in public.
