THIRD WAY: Posture Over Position

In this second message of this series, THIRD WAY, Mark talks about a different kind of unity. Following Jesus includes discovering a unity of posture within the different positions we might hold. As you consider the different points on the THIRD WAY creed, can you recall a time where you experienced one of these commitments? What difference did it make? 2. In your own words, what is the difference between a unity of position vs a unity of posture? 3. As you consider Jesus' posture, read Colossians 3:12-17. What do you find here that is uniquely needed for the Church to embody more? 4. What should a third way community do when someone's posture is out of line with our commitment? 5. As AJ Sherrill wrote, “The problem today is not that we have positions; the problem is that the positional axis is the dominant - even exclusive - way we determine whether or not we can have unity with someone.” Why is this a problem? 6.
