The Phillies had a meltdown in the 9th inning yesterday but still leave London with a 9 game lead. Tijuan Walker was solid. A lot of records and milestones happend on this day. In 1972 Hank Aaron hit homerun #649 against the Phillies to move past Willie Mays. In 1974 Mike Schmidt hit a bomb that bounced off a speaker at the Astrodome. In 1981 Pete Rose tied Stan Musial for the all-time NL hit lead. In 2014 Jonathan Papelbon recorded his 300th save and in 2019 the Phills and D-Backs set an MLB record with 13 combined homers in a game.
