Tyson shares some insights on why setting time aside to think is challenging but important. Most times, a lot of people are multitasking and trying to get multiple things done in a short amount of time. Though this might be your reality, it is important as a law firm owner to put time aside to think about how things are going for your firm. Especially if you are wanting to make your firm better. You need to think about how that will happen. If you take dedicated time to think about it, you can bring it to your team to get ideas flowing and start working towards that idea or goal.Thinking time needs to be scheduled and communicated to your team in order for it to work. Figure out the time of day where you are the sharpest. Maybe it's a 1 hour block in the morning, a quick 20 minute block in the early afternoon or right before bed. Decide what time works best for thinking and put it in your calendar. It is crucial to communicate this thinking time to your team so they don’t disrupt it to ensure you can focus.
