"This Industry Is Not Sustainable!" - Rob Candy | Scaffolding Association

"This industry is not sustainable at the rate that we are training people now!" The Spotlight Sessions is a brand new podcast series from Embassy Site Services. Using this podcast, we will discuss the most important issues surrounding the scaffolding and roofing industry as well as construction as a whole, with some of the industry’s leading figures. There’s no better place to start than addressing the scaffolding skills gap. In this episode, Seb chats with Scaffolding Association CEO, Rob Candy, about the challenges faced in recruiting new scaffolding talent as well as retaining them. They discuss how the war in Ukraine could spell trouble for the whole industry and specifically scaffolding. Rob also details his visions for the future of the industry and how everyone needs to play their part, from individual scaffolding firms all the way up to government legislation. "A lot of people undermine what a scaffolder is!"
