This Is Asakaa
from DJ Lord OTB Mixes Hosted by DJ Lord OTB
Award-winning Ghanaian DJ Lord OTB has just dropped the latest installment of his acclaimed ‘Essential Mixx’ series, and this time, he’s shining the spotlight on the explosive Asakaa movement. The mix traces the genre’s evolution from its raw, underground roots in Kumasi to its current reign as one of Ghana’s most dominant sounds. Featuring heavyweight Asakaa stars like Jay Bahd, Yaw Tog, Reggie, O’Kenneth, Kwaku DMC, Braa Benk, Kawabanga, and Beeztrap KOTM, the mix serves as both a tribute and a timeline—showcasing how the drill-infused street sound went from local buzz to national anthem status. With his signature seamless blends and high-energy transitions, DJ Lord OTB captures the rebellious spirit and relentless hustle that define Asakaa’s appeal. This Essential Mixx isn’t just a playlist—it’s a sonic documentary, proving why Asakaa has become Ghana’s most unstoppable youth movement. Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to the wave, Lord OTB’s mix is the ultimate guide to understanding the genre’s explosive impact.
