This is Johnny Sompholphard - Vatsana's Seafood Hot Sauce

On this episode I chatted with Johnny about his seafood hot sauce named after his mother. Johnny is of Laotian decent, growing up his Mom would make authentic Laotian food which always had her home recipe of hot sauce on the side. Johnny grew up in Houston but studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Texas in Austin. He started his career in Chemical Engineering but a job change brought him to Weatherford Oklahoma. Well as you know, Weatherford isn't exactly Houston. So Johnny had a lot more time on his hands and started to develop his own hot sauce with his Moms recipe. To see if his hot sauce was as good as he thought, he entered a hot sauce event in Houston and to his delight received great reviews and sold out!! Returning to Weatherford full of confidence he quit his job!!! Talk about going all in!! Today his hot sauce is in a few stores and he regularly attends the OKC Farmers Market held at Scissortail Park!
