A battle in a castle overlooking Marburg, The contestants in this battle sit around a table in the middle of this room. On one side Martin Luther and Philip Melanchthon on the other Ulrich Zwingli, and John Oecolampadius. Luther teaches that Jesus’ body and blood is really present in the bread and wine of Holy Communion. The how of it is taken on faith. Because is means is. Zwingli on the other hand teaches that the bread and wine represents or symbolize Christ’s body and blood. He maintains that is simply cannot mean is because that does not make sense.
