This is October 2026

The boys are BACK! Real raw Real needed “This Is October” is ultimately about transition. Van and Holden use the arrival of fall as an excuse to talk about nostalgia, Halloween, TV, hockey, work, aging, death, personal struggles, and their creative ambitions. Beneath all the jokes, the episode is about recognizing that life is changing, becoming more intentional, refusing to feed negativity, learning to control your own reactions, and using October as a reset point. The hosts want to stop waiting for the perfect circumstances and actually start creating—while also taking better care of themselves and building a healthier community around GTA Wire. September no longer has the same emotional grip it once did. October is being treated as a reset and creative launchpad. Aging and mortality are becoming more tangible, making life feel more urgent. Personal growth means confronting uncomfortable parts of yourself rather than escaping them. You can't control other people, but you can control your own reaction. Don't feed negativity with more negativity. Creative work needs to move from ideas into actual execution. The hosts want more consistency with Patreon, streaming, Big Dog Radio, and other content. Journaling is presented as a useful tool for reflection and mental clarity. The overarching philosophy: choose the harder/right thing now rather than the easier thing that creates problems later.
