This Isn't the Time for Philosophy - Hell Bent, Part 2
from Bibliophilia and the Philosophers' Degrees Hosted by Anastasia & Megan
Hello fellow philosophers and readers! We would love to hear your thoughts on some of the questions we unpack in this episode. If you are comfortable with us reading your thoughts on air to discuss, our contact information along with a list of our questions will be listed below the episode description. Stay curious, friends <3 In this follow up episode, Anastasia and Megan make the descent again into Hell Bent to touch on all the other themes that sparked their curiosity. This time, they discuss the internal and external aspects of personal identity and grapple with which parts are true. They consider if forgiveness is truly healing for the forgiving individual or if it is a social act of service so everyone can move on. They close by wondering if karma is coming for us in the real world like it has for certain book characters. Digressions include the absolute chore of personal grooming, annoying superheroes, and accidentally trying to solve the American criminal justice system. GMAIL: [email protected] LISTENER QUESTIONS: What parts of identity are true? Does something have to be objective to be true? Should something that seems as significant as our identity be subjective, that is, based upon our flawed internal thinking and/or incomplete external perspectives by others? Should your collective/community's functionality be a consideration when it comes to forgiving a member of said community?
