This Person Is Trying To Cancel Me

from THINK BEFORE YOU SLEEP · host THINK BEFORE YOU SLEEP

A stranger on the internet finds an old tweet. The tweet is from ten years ago. The stranger does not like the tweet. The stranger contacts my employer. The employer contacts me. I am asked to apologize for something I do not remember saying. I refuse. The stranger posts the tweet again. The mob forms. My name trends. My life changes. In this episode, I share my personal experience with cancel culture. A person I have never met decided that I needed to be destroyed. They dug through years of my social media history. They found a joke that did not land. They presented it as evidence of my moral failure. They did not contact me. They did not ask for context. They went straight to my employer, my sponsors, and my family. The goal was not accountability. The goal was annihilation. The episode explores the psychology of cancel culture and the people who weaponize it. The canceler is often not a victim. The canceler is often a bully who has learned that social media gives them power they could never earn in real life. The episode also examines the legal and financial consequences of being canceled. Lost income. Lost opportunities. Lost friendships. The damage is real. The apology rarely helps. The mob has already moved on to its next target.Turn down the lights, put on your headphones, and press play because the person trying to cancel me has never met me. They do not want to meet me. They want to destroy me.
