This SmackDown Feels Like a PLE

WWE has absolutely loaded up this week's SmackDown, and honestly, it feels more like a Premium Live Event than a weekly television show. With championship matches, King and Queen of the Ring semifinals, and major storylines heading toward Night of Champions, this could end up being one of the strongest SmackDown cards of the entire year. The biggest match on the card sees Cody Rhodes defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Gunther, but the real wildcard is Sami Zayn serving as the special guest referee. The tension between Cody and Sami has been building for weeks, and there is no telling whether Zayn will call this match right down the middle or become the deciding factor in the outcome. Regardless of who wins, the fallout could be just as important as the match itself. On top of that, Jey Uso battles Je'Von Evans in a King of the Ring semifinal that has massive implications for SummerSlam. Evans has been one of WWE's fastest-rising stars, while Jey continues his march toward another potential world title opportunity. Add in Charlotte Flair vs Liv Morgan, the WWE Tag Team Championship match, and several developing storylines, and this show looks absolutely stacked from top to bottom.
