This Week in Michigan Football History with the Professor, Greg Dooley. To all the Michigan fans tuning in from coast to coast, to the shores of Lake Michigan, to the banks of Lake Erie, welcome to your history lesson and a special salute to those who braved the journey to the Windy City to witness today's epic clash at historic Wrigley Field. This isn't our first rodeo in Chicago, of course, the first Michigan football game ever, back in 1879, was held in Chicago on the site where Grant Park sits today. And we frequently used to throw down just 12 miles from Wrigley in Hyde Park, squaring off against our old rival, the University of Chicago, under their legendary coach, Amos 'Alonzo' Stagg.
