Now, he wanted to know what rules they were supposed to teach the people to frame their lives. Should Jesus' disciples own slaves? Should people embrace poverty and give up material things? And would mercy somehow take over so we will no longer need laws and justice? First, Jesus made clear that he was living a different life on earth than everyone else. And because of that, there were certain rules that he was supposed to follow.
