Today we are releasing this episode of The Chronic Truth Podcast featuring Thomas Silvera. In honor and memory of his son Elijah. Today January 16, 2025, would have been Elijah's birthday. We want to honor Elijah and his family's story with this very touching and heartfelt episode. Thomas shares his journey with severe allergies, asthma as a child into adulthood. Then having two sons who also are diagnosed with severe allergies. He shares that one moment in time changed his whole families lives with the loss of their son Elijah, to negligence of a day care center who was ensuring his allergies would be handled with upmost care. Tragically, this was not the case. Thomas and his family had to face the loss of their precious son. He shares that the stress of this loss began over time to affect his own health in a critical way. Thomas and his family began advocating for legislative laws to be passed that would help protect other children's lives in schools and daycares when severe allergies are present. During the interview, behind Thomas was a wall of pictures of Elijah and the 6 state laws that have been passed in honor of Elijah. Thomas shares more work is needed to be done so that ALL states have passed laws protecting our children.
