Thomas Speech disaster but finding the silver lining

Today I had the pleasure of speaking with Thomas who shared his story of public speaking and in his case it wen’t (in his mind) horribly wrong. Public speaking is a fear that almost everyone that I know of shares in the dread and stress. Thomas was asked to give a public speech and when he got up to the stage he realized that many things where not going well for him and he was feeling tense and vulnerable and quickly losing the connection with the audience. This humbling experience made him start to think more about what it takes to put ourselves out into the world like this and how we need to be a little nicer to each other because we are all at a certain level vulnerable. Even though it was a fear and stressful event, Thomas is looking for more opportunities to speak and he knows that the only way to get better is to keep doing it.
