Paul and Glenn are back for another fun and entertaining episode. English singer/songwriter Billy Bragg wrote a song about this former footballer and his struggle in balancing his sport and religion. - A legend of Australian athletics who has had a distinguished career not just in her sport, however also in politics and sports administration. - Songs about Sir Donald Bradman e.g., “Our Don Bradman”, by Jack O’Hagan. - Songs about Muhammed Ali e.g., “Black Superman”, by Johnny Wakelin. - Songs about Phar Lap e.g., “Big Red” by Russel Morris - Michael Jordan “Be like Mike”, the Gatorade commercial. - Art and Garfunkel’s famous lyrics in their song “Mrs Robinson” in regard to Joe DiMaggio. - Dire Straits Mark Knopfler and his song about a famous former heavyweight boxer. - The tragic death of former Aussie cricketer Phillip Hughes and how it inspired a song to him in tribute “Nambucca Boy”. - The story behind New Zealand singer Lorde’s well-known worldwide hit “Royals” and its relation to George Brett and the Kansas City Royals. - English singer/songwriter Morrissey and his sporting songs/albums e.g., “Billy Conn Boxers”, “Southpaw Grammar”. - Lil Wayne and “Kobe Bryant”. - Midnight Oil and “Jimmy Sharman’s boxer’s” - Les Darcy, Victor Trumper, - Racehorse Gunsynd and “the Goondiwindi Grey”. - Yea-sayer and their song “Ambling Alp”, in regard to former Italian boxer Primo Carnera. - The band Goldfinger and their ridiculous love and obsession with Wayne Gretsky.
