Those Who Wait On The Lord

Waiting is one of the hardest things we're asked to do as followers of Jesus. In this teaching, we walk through Psalm 27 and see David's raw honesty in the midst of surrounding trouble: fear all around him, yet a heart set on seeking God's face.From there we trace waiting through Scripture. Daniel and his friends facing an impossible request from a king, and asking God for mercy instead of panicking. Jairus and the woman with the discharge of blood, both desperate for Jesus to move, both waiting in very different kinds of urgency. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego walking into the fire still trusting God, whatever the outcome.The through-line: God doesn't always rescue us the way we expect. Sometimes He keeps us from the fire. Sometimes He meets us in it.
