THOUGHT & THE STIMULI OF MECHANICAL REACTION, a dialogue tape

"Inviting the wider circle of NATURE into the smaller circle of DIALOGUE"...A stream-side dialogue tape. Recorded during mountain May snowmelt, I unpack an aphorism I like to use with my New Music Performance students -- including myself among them, in the spirit of "The teacher is the taught." The little 37-step saying is by F.M. Alexander, founder of the ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE. It goes like this: "You are not here to learn exercises, or to learn to do something right, but to get able to meet a stimulus that always puts ou wrong, and to learn to deal with it." F.M.
