But before I can even laugh with glee, It's all over, vanished, you see. Good that thoughts remain, lingering here, Every gift should be truthful, my dear. Mashed potatoes and monotony, A colorful bouquet, for you and me. The story begins, and soon it ends, The song too fades, as time suspends. Just arrived home, safe and sound, Come visit me, let's gather 'round. Happy to see you, I am ready and true, To be there for you, in all that we do. Wonderful, that's how it should be, Knick-knacks, seriousness, and fun, all three. Happy to be with you, that's clear as day, Sun-clear, everything is true, come what may.
