Thoughts on Being a Kpop Stan

Hey, it’s me. I hope you’ve been well. This week I’d like to talk about what it’s like to be kpop stan and the stigma that exists with that. I think there are a lot of people who hear the words kpop stan, and immediately their mind goes to this idea of these annoying and horrible people. And they don’t want to bother to dive any deeper into those thoughts or question why they have these preconceived ideas. And honestly, I find it tiring and annoying to have to deal with this stigma. Not only are many of these ideas and opinions just plain wrong, they’re rooted in racism, xenophobia, and misogyny.
