Thousands still missing after China-Nepal flood

from BBC · host BBC

Rescuers in China and Nepal are searching for about 1,300 people who are missing after a flash flood hit the two countries. At least 359 people have died in Nepal, with three confirmed deaths in China. We'll hear from both countries. Also in the programme: Ratko Mladic, the former Bosnian Serb commander who was convicted of genocide, has died in prison - we hear from the journalist Allan Little who covered him for the BBC and Hasan Hasanovic, a survivor of Srebrenica massacre; why some species of bats are able to live so long; and we'll remember the Japanese avant-garde artist Yayoi Kusama, whose struggles with her mental health fuelled her work: (Photo shows flood survivors in Devighat Village, Nuwakot district, Nepal on 27 August 2026.
