Three Dans Battle for Alaska Senate | US News

Alaska’s Senate race is turning into a surreal three-way battle featuring three Republicans all named Dan Sullivan—incumbent Senator Dan S. Sullivan, retired teacher Dan J. Sullivan, and former Anchorage mayor Dan A. Sullivan. The chaos began when election officials nearly blocked Dan J. Sullivan from the ballot over name/logo confusion, but a judge let him stay. Now, both Sullivans face off against Democrat Mary Peltola in November, with fears that Dan J.’s candidacy could split the GOP vote—or worse, that he’s a planted distraction. Complicating things further, Dan J. admitted he’s voted for Peltola before, fueling Republican alarm as the nation watches this bizarre, high-stakes showdown unfold.
