Three Great Therefores | Mike Castelli | The Power of God | Romans 5:1, 8:1, 12:1

from The Power of God · host thechapelingreen

Let’s reconnect to Romans by recapping the key points that have led us to the spot where we left-off in Chapter 13.  After Paul’s thesis statement (1:16,17), there are Three Great 'Therefores' that will allow us to do that quickly.  After declaring with depth, that all humanity is in the pit of death (1:18-3:20), Paul gives us the resolution of the Good News that brings Life… the Gift of Righteousness, purchased and given by Jesus (3:21-26). THEREFORE:  Romans 5:1 is the truth that since we have been declared righteous by God’s grace as a gift, we now and forever have peace with Him.  And with that peace, Romans 8:1 tells us that condemnation will never be a part of our present or future, since the Spirit of Christ is in us.  And thus, Romans 12:1 tells us that the only reasonable/rational response to God’s mercy, is to offer-back to Him our whole life as a sacrifice, living to/for God. This is the love response described in the remainder of the letter. This Week’s Bulletin:https://thechapelingreen.cdn.prismic.io/thechapelingreen/aWAGaQIvOtkhBIUR_01.11.26Rm1-13Reconnect3ThereforesOutline.pdf
