Three Instagram Posts and a Whole Persona | Slightly Unhinged with Nehemiah Creel

Justin is joined by Nehemiah Creel, a queer performing artist and business person based in Nob Hill. Nehemiah talks with Justin about growing up queer in Willamina, finding creative community in Portland, building confidence, and stepping into a more public version of himself. They get into small-town survival, religious pressure, queer art, merchant services, senior care, karaoke, and Nehemiah’s performing persona, Jaxsin. Naturally, the conversation also goes completely off the rails into Vine, MapQuest, Delilah after dark, 1-800 psychic lines, social media anxiety, Justin posting to the wrong Instagram account, and a round of “titillating or tit deflating.” This episode is about identity, creativity, confidence, and becoming the version of yourself you used to imagine. It is also about having three Instagram posts and being read for it on a podcast. Want to watch the full video version?
