It was 3:00 on Friday and it was dark, as Jesus, the Light of the world, hung on a cross. The Lord of life, innocent - yet sentenced to death, had completed His mission. Jesus willingly offered His life as a sacrifice, “the Lamb of God, Who takes away the sins of the world.”It was 3:00 on Friday when the curtain in the sanctuary of the temple was torn from top to bottom, showing that a new and living way to God, was now open for all who believe. It was 3:00 on Friday when Jesus cried out, “Father, I entrust My spirit into Your hands!” and the One Who gave us the breath of life, breathed His last.It was 3:00 on Friday when there was an earthquake that terrified the Roman soldiers at the crucifixion. They said, “This man truly was the Son of God!” signifying that Jesus was the Truth. In three days, He would rise again, demonstrating that He is also the Life. It was 3:00 on Friday when Jesus died for you, when Jesus died for me. “For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.”
