Three Raccoons Reunited with Wild | San Diego News
from San Diego News Today | 2 Min News | The Daily News Now!
Three orphaned raccoons, rescued from Ocean Beach and Chula Vista, just became the first to be released into the wild thanks to San Diego Humane Society’s brand-new specialized nursery — a state-of-the-art facility designed to prep these critters for life in the great outdoors. After getting full medical care, a nutrient-packed diet of bugs, fish, eggs, and more, and mastering climbing and foraging skills, they soared free on July 31st at Mission Trails Regional Park. This isn’t just a win for these three — last year alone, the shelter helped 315 raccoons, and this year’s already at 147. If you spot a wild animal in need, head to their Wildlife Help Hub.
