Three Sons M*rdered by Their Father.. The CHAD DOERMAN Family Tragedy

On June 15, 2023, Chad Doerman killed his three young sons, Clayton, 7, Hunter, 4, and Chase, 3, at their family home in Monroe Township, Ohio. Prosecutors later reconstructed the hours before the murders, revealing cryptic comments, an aborted visit to a health clinic, disturbing behavior around the family's gun safe, and the desperate attempts of Doerman's wife and teenage stepdaughter to save the children. He was indicted on 21 charges and initially faced the death penalty. In August 2024, Doerman pleaded guilty to three aggravated murders and two felonious assaults, receiving three consecutive life sentences without parole plus additional prison time. This episode opens You Can't Unhear's seven-day Family Tragedy special, examining the Doerman family murders, his insanity defense, devastating victim statements and the question prosecutors themselves could never fully answer: why?
