When laboratory rats had a choice between consuming cocaine or sugar, they chose sugar. And despite all the opiate and heroin addiction festering in America these days, sugar is the number one addiction of choice, outdistancing tobacco, alcohol, hard drugs and a huge variety of unsafe prescription drugs, including the increasingly wide-spread opiates.
