Derrick Clark is in Outside sales in Midland, Texas. Started into the oilfield like most of us to be able to make some extra cash and fell in love with it. The deals that were made, How exciting it was to be involved in the rapid pace of the industry. The interview started off pretty standard talking about his position and what he did for his company and then the interview shifted like a lot of mine often do when we start talking about the lifestyle and how it affects the home life. Now he is newly married but his wife comes from an oilfield family. This was such a fun interview when we were able to dive deeper into how this lifestyle and being on the phone all of the time, often when we make EXCUSES when we say are WORKING. Super tough to do as we all know when your next contact you make could mean bank. Derrick has a great insight into the world of the Permian Basin and it was such a fun interview to have.
