English officers were losing their cool as they were unable to stop these cases of sudden disappearances of so many people. Trade was also affected as businessmen stopped travelling. Whoever entered the Thug territory, never returned. It was crazy and the Englishmen were unable to do anything. Captain William Sleeman was called from Britain and handed over the charge for putting an end to this senseless disappearance.
