TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. It's not enough to be a member of a covenant. One must be a faithful adherent to enjoy the fullness of the benefits of the said covenant. Here is the point Jesus Christ wanted communicating to His Jewish audience in the Gospel passage of today. As the children of God and members of the new covenant establish in the blood of Jesus Christ, just as we have the right to enjoy all the benefits and rights due to this new covenant, we also have the responsibility of living out the terms of this covenant. We must make genuine efforts to be God's children not just in name but at heart and by pur way of life.
