TODAY'S HOMILY IN BRIEF. The Christian faith is meant to be a blessing, not a burden. It is meant to lighten the burden of human beings (cf. Matt. 11:28), set captives free (cf. Lk. 4:18) and deliver us from our afflictions (cf. Jn. 8:36). Christianity should not be a source of burden; bringing any form of yoke, misery and pains to its adherents. God sent Jesus Christ to save humanity and deliver us from all forms of bandage (cf. Lk. 4:18-19). The Christian faith is meant to pursue, promote and fulfil this very core value of set out by Jesus Christ.
