Rise and shine Aurora. It's Thursday and we are here with news, coffee and all the facts. Let's get into today's news: - Saturday, April 9th from 8 am to noon there will be a Community Cleanup Service Project, focusing on Fox River & Indian Creek. This is a great community effort with our partners of Fox Metro, Kiwanis International, Aurora Township, the City of Aurora, IL, Government & Fox Valley Park District. The Neighbor Project will be there as well! Check in will be at 8 am at the Cole Center located at 101 W. Illinois avenue. Breakfast snacks for check-in, and they will provide lunch for all volunteers after! We’ve taken part in one of these before. It’s a great time serving with an entire community! For more information or to reserve your spot and volunteer contact Pat Divine at (630) 301-6817. - March 26th from 10 to 11:30 am, our friends of the Neighbor Project and BMO Harris Bank will be hosting a great Homebuyer Education Seminar in both english and spanish. The homebuyer team will walk you through the steps of the home buying process and learn about down payment assistance and other programs. This will take place at the Prisco Community Center, located at 150 W. Illinois ave. This event is free and open to the public! For more information contact Jerria at 331-300-3566. - Lastly, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a Kid’s Gun Safety discussion on April 9th from 10 am to noon. Topics discussed will be gun disposal, the safe storage of guns, basic gun safety rules and much more. There is a QR code to scan for registration on the shared social media flyer.
