US equity markets advanced as the rally in Treasury yields paused although crude prices continued to climb – Dow rose +295-points or +0.56%, snapping a three-session losing streak. Nvidia Corp gained +3.21% to be the leading performer in the 30-stock index. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jensen Huang addressed a technology event in North Carolina hosted by the US and called on Group of 20 (G20) nations to accelerate their adoption of artificial intelligence as a way to enhance growth, urging the world’s largest economies to expand data centres and other infrastructure to support the emerging technology. Chevron Corp added +0.35% after the energy giant and Italy’s ENI S.p.A (+0.61%) signed key agreements with Venezuela, committing to large oil project expansions aimed at boosting the OPEC country’s production said it was going to expand operations in Venezuela.
