Part 2 - Host Neville James welcomes Genevieve Whitaker, Executive Director of the Virgin Islands Career and Technical Education (CTE) Board, and Anthony Martinborough Jr., Chair of the Virgin Islands Board for Career and Technical Education, who discuss the board’s role in certifying instructors, expanding workforce development opportunities, and strengthening career and technical education programs throughout the territory. Martinborough shares his journey as a young educator and community leader, while both guests highlight initiatives aimed at increasing student participation in vocational training, industry partnerships, apprenticeships, and construction workforce development.  The conversation focuses on the importance of preparing students and adult learners for careers in skilled trades, business, agriculture, hospitality, and other technical fields, while addressing challenges such as educator shortages, workforce gaps, and the need for greater investment in training programs.
