Powerball jackpot grows, againThe Powerball jackpot is climbing again after no one won the jackpot in last night's drawing.  The estimated jackpot for Saturday's drawing is now 820-million-dollars, with the cash option working out to around 383-million-dollars.  Some players did luck out, however, with a two-million-dollar ticket sold in Kentucky and one-million-dollar winers in Florida and California.  Tickets are two bucks each, with the odds of hitting the jackpot roughly one in 292 million.  Governor announces plans to celebrate America's 250th birthdayIllinois will be celebrating America's 250th Anniversary next year.  Speaking at Navy Pier yesterday, Governor JB Pritzker announced a series of statewide initiatives to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in 2026.  The Illinois America 250 Commission was established to organize a statewide celebration.  So far, 68 counties are involved in the planning, and 93 communities have passed resolutions to participate.  Hundreds of museums, historic sites, and cultural institutions are already hosting exhibits, tours, performances, and festivals tied to the anniversary.Attorneys for convicted Delphi murderer say the need more timeThe defense attorneys for convicted Delphi double murderer Richard Allen are asking for seven more days to prepare their appeal of his conviction.  He was sentenced to 130 years in prison for the deaths of Abby Williams and Lilly German near Delphi's Monon High Bridge in February 2017, and his attorneys have asked for a December 17th deadline to appeal.  They currently have until December 10th to get everything before the court.  The attorneys are working on an Odinism theory to explain the girls' deaths.Have a news tip to share?
