Thursday Feb 12 2026 - Scanner News

from Panhandle Scanner News · host Brian Hale

Sidney was the hot spot for most of our traffic yesterday. Other than the car fire from Cherry County, linked below. The day started with a stolen U-Haul being recovered. Then, just about an hour later, Scanner traffic indicated that Cheyenne County was in a high speed pursuit with a Toyota Tundra on Highway 385 speeds over 95. Further Scanner traffic advised that they have the driver identified and are discontinuing the pursuit. They usually do this in the interest of public safety, especially after the 10-12 or subject has been identified. And then just afternoon, an accident was reported on Highway 26. A vehicle accident with an injured with an injured patient with a head injury bleeding from the head to mouth holding the one. Crews were arranging for blood transport when Medics on scene canceled that request and a partial trauma team was activated for the unrestrained 50s year old female with lacerations to her face. Our prayers for both drivers and for the situation and all emergency responders. We also heard an unfortunate call on Woodley Park Road in Terri Town yesterday for an elderly female who had passed away. Again, we offer our prayers and condolences for these families affected.   Photo attached comes from the Nebraska State Patrol Troop D, showing a car fire reported on by The Twister.
