Leviticus is complex. The rules we find here can be confusing. Today’s chapter is focused on dealing with lesions on the skin. It fell to the priests to determine whether it was just a surface-level issue or a deeper issue of leprosy. Many would assume God’s guidance on this matter was for the sake of protecting the community from contagious disease – which is a good byproduct of these rules - but as Pastor Dan clarifies in today’s message, the primary focus was on their relationship with God.
