Be Real - Matthew 7:15-23Jesus is interested in people who are willing to follow him. You're an ambassador of the kingdom of God. But there is a pretender that exists inside each one of us. Pretenders are all around us. Jesus is pointing out the deception that exists within the human heart. Matthew 7:15 says, “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves."False prophets twist the words of God in a concerted effort to lead people astray. False prophets have always been around. Satan did it to Adam and Eve.A false prophet teaches or affirms something false that leads to people further away from God. A false prophet is not somebody who just simply makes a mistake or gets a detail wrong in their teaching. 1 John 2:18 Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore, we know that it is the last hour.The Antichrist has two purposes.He wants you to reject God. He will distort your view of God and His word.A false prophet is revealed by the way they live their lives. A false prophet affirms or teaches something that is true, but they fail to live it in their own lives, which then leads people further away from God. Matthew 7:16b-20You can identify people by their actions. You will know them by the way that they act. Is there: Always Discord? Always Division? Always Disruption?Matthew 7:21What is the will of the Father? Great Commission. Great CommandmentMatthew 7:22-23Jesus doesn’t say you were never saved, He says “I never knew you.” It's about a relationship. Jesus is saying “Don’t let the imposter rise up within you, just be real and honest with me.”Pride is thinking too much about yourself. Pride is always faking it, always pretending, always hiding,Hypocrisy is an inconsistency between what I say I believe and how I actually live. Self-righteousness = you can see it in other people, but you can't really see it in yourself.
