There was somebody that actually changed the world by the way that He lived. What do we do when spiritual growth is harder than we expected? Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.Jesus is talking about prayer. Jesus is calling you to a level of spiritual maturity that requires growth. Jesus is teaching us how to pray over our spiritual needs, not our material wants. God is more concerned with the motivations of our hearts. Asking Him to help us overcome the challenges of spiritual growth. 2 reasons that we don’t ask God for help in our spiritual growth. Pride GuiltHebrews 4:16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. We don’t pray to get something, we pray to get to know someone. God is a relational God, and he wants us to know him.Jeremiah 29:13 If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. When it comes to developing and cultivating a relationship with God, we have to be persistent. Isaiah 62:6-7“Give the Lord no rest” Genesis 32:26 Exodus 32:11-14Luke 11:5-8Luke 18:1-81 Thessalonians 5:17 pray without ceasing, We have permission to continue to go to God in prayer believing He can give us what we want spiritually.Have you seen God's power and presence because of your persistent prayers? We can pray for God’s promises with persistence.
