Thy Will Be Done

[Verse 1 — From Creation to the Fall] In the beginning, God spoke His word, Heaven and earth obeyed what they heard; Holy angels delight in His way, Hear His commandments, gladly obey. But sin brought a will opposed to the throne, Choosing our way instead of God’s own; Still through the darkness His purpose runs— To restore through Christ what sin has undone. [Chorus 1 — The Servant’s Prayer] Thy will be done, not mine but Thine, Write Your law in this heart of mine; Teach me to trust when I cannot see, To hear Your Word and faithfully be Your willing servant, whatever may come— On earth as in heaven, Thy will be done. [Verse 2 — The Faithful Obey] Noah built as the Lord commanded, Abraham followed, though he knew not where; “Go forward!”—Israel walked through the sea, Jordan’s waters stopped as the priests stepped faithfully. Three Hebrews stood when the nations bowed down, Daniel still prayed though death was around; Mary said, “Be it according to Your Word”— Faith does His will when His voice is heard. [Chorus 2 — What Is God’s Will?] Thy will be done—make holy Your own, Your truth in our minds, Your law in our hearts; Restore Your image that sin has defaced, Transform us, Lord, by Your saving grace. To love what You love, Your truth to obey— This is our prayer; lead us in Your way. Your kingdom come, let rebellion be gone; On earth as in heaven, Thy will be done. [Verse 3 — Jesus, the Perfect Servant] Then Jesus came from the courts above, The Father’s will revealed through His love. He came not to do His will, but Thine; The Father’s character through Him would shine. In dark Gethsemane, facing the cross, He chose God’s will whatever the cost; “Not My will, but Thine,” prayed the Son— At Calvary, redemption was won. [Verse 4 — The Final Witness] Now earth must choose whom it will obey, As powers unite and truth is betrayed; Though all the world may pressure and command, God’s faithful remnant in Jesus will stand. His name in their foreheads, His truth in their hearts, Keeping His commandments, from faith they’ll not part; The faith of Jesus—their victory song— Through God’s mighty grace they remain true and strong. [Climax Chorus / Ending — From Genesis to Revelation] THY WILL BE DONE! Let the whole earth see What Christ can do in humanity! As angels in heaven delight to obey, Let Your sealed people walk in Your way. Restore Your image, let Your glory shine, Your truth in our hearts, our wills yield to Thine! From Eden lost to Eden restored, One faithful people, one sovereign Lord; Though earth may threaten, though Babylon reigns, We stand on Your Word through pressure and pain. Your servants shall serve You when conflict is done, The curse shall be gone, and Your kingdom shall come! From Genesis’ dawn till earth is made new— THY WILL BE DONE! THY WILL BE DONE! THY WILL BE DONE! Forever, Lord—THY WILL BE DONE!
