Today’s podcast news podcast is sponsored by elevatorbooks.com: www.elevatorbooks.com THYSSENKRUPP DEBUTS SMART DATA WAREHOUSE IN MADRID thyssenkrupp launched its new global spare-parts strategy with the inauguration today of the first smart data technological warehouse in the San Fernando de Henares municipality of Madrid. The 6,853-m2 facility is connected to the MAX predictive maintenance solution installed in 120,000 elevators worldwide. Information gathered by MAX “will be saved and analyzed for perfect scheduling of requests. . . .,” according to thyssenkrupp. To be joined soon by spare parts warehouses in the U.S., India and other European locations, the Madrid warehouse holds up to 9,800 different parts and components for maintenance and service. Reducing customer wait times and costs, the facility has the capacity to handle more than 1.4 million orders per year, an increase of 400% compared to the previous spare-parts system.
