Welcome to the Tweet Trends podcast. Hey, Evette, what's trending today? Hey, I'm Evette, hey girl. And you are tuned in to Tweet Trends.
It's the quickest way to find out what's trending today. The clock is ticking. Let's get started. I want to see if I'm alone in this.
So picture this for me. Do you know how, what it's like when, say you go to the gym, even though for me it's been a while because I don't trust the gyms right now because some people don't want to wear their masks. But anyway, that's neither here nor there. You go to the gym and you take a particular workout class.
And you know that the class starts at a certain time and it ends at a certain time. And in the beginning, it may be kind of slow moving. And you might not be liking the moves, but you know that there's an end in sight if I can just get through this. Well, that was my attitude going into this current administration.
But then closer to the end, the instructor decides, you know what, let's do burpees, pull out burpees for 20 minutes. That's what I feel like 2020 was like. In 2020, we were doing burpees like a crazy person. And all I could do to try to get through the workout is keep my eye on the clock.
But dog, if it didn't seem like the time was moving super slow, it's not backwards sometimes. You know what I mean? That is my illustration of this Trump administration. That it was slow going in the beginning.
I was heartbroken the morning I woke up and found out that he won, but I said, you know what, God, I'ma trust in you and we're gonna get through this. We're gonna do this. And slowly but surely, it was just one Z2s, these little things, nickel and diamond here and there. And you're just like, oh, come on.
Like you got to the point where you were no longer surprised about the things that you heard because you just couldn't put anything past the man. Just every day was a new surprise. Kind of like teaching profession. You never know what to expect from day to day.
And that is how I felt about this Trump administration. You could never tell what was about to happen ever. And then we get to these final days, you know, these final weeks of his presidency. And you've got the insurrection at the, in the Capitol.
And mind-boggling as it may be, you can't put things past him and his fan base because they're about that life, you know, that whole, to me, that's like reality life, reality show living. They are living their lives out as if it's a reality show. And they're loving it. I mean, when I saw how many phones were out when they were cutting the straight fool up there, beating people, breaking things, trying to get into the building, you know, and like chanting as if they are going to actually kill somebody, you know.
They were coming after the Speaker of the House and the Vice President. And I'm just like, not in America, y'all. We don't do that. But I guess we do.
Some of us do. And I have to get over that. But I digress. I can easily get off track when I start talking about this.
But, you know, once again, this has been a long time coming. And now we are down to the final hours. And I feel like I have to keep my eyes and ears peeled because you still don't know what could possibly happen. Right now, we have the National Guard.
They are being screened regularly. So it's not just that they were screened once and were given the OK. They are being screened continuously until it is time for them to actually go out on the street and stand there post to make sure that everything goes well tomorrow for the inauguration. And I think that is absolutely crazy.
But there's been word that some people may try to infiltrate by posing as National Guardsmen to then be able to gain access. This is just straight, non-senseical, crazy talk. But this is what we've been reduced to when we believe the lies and propaganda that people put out there instead of doing our homework and finding out what's fact and what's fiction. Moving on to the Bigger, Brighter and Better Things.
Today is the day before the inauguration. And there are a couple of activities, festivities that are taking place. Now, normally in a regular pre-COVID type society, there would be a multitude of various activities that are taking place around the whole idea of the inauguration. But because of our COVID situation as well as the fact that some people just don't know how to behave themselves, that a lot of the events now are going to be virtual, which is awesome for me because I wasn't going to drive up to DC anyway.
I wasn't going to go out of my house anyway, even if it was reports of puppies and kittens being given out for free. I wasn't going to go. But this way, I can actually participate. So as far as various activities for today, which is Tuesday, 5.30, which is actually less than an hour from now.
So my apologies for just getting this information to you. But at 5.30, there's going to be a COVID-19 memorial. And it's going to commemorate the 400,000 lives that we have lost due to the coronavirus. And they are building it as the first time that there's been a candle lighting at the reflection pool.
So I think this is going to be a really awesome activity that's going to be taking place. On top of that, at 8 o'clock tonight, there is going to be another event. And it is the, we are one. That's what it's called.
We are one. And it's going to have a number of various performances. As a matter of fact, my alamada, South Carolina State University, they are going to be one of the bands that are going to be performing, as well as a guy that I went to college with. He has a, he's in a band called Ranky Tanki.
And if you haven't heard of them, they did win a Grame this year. But Ranky Tanki is also going to be featured on that program as well. And that's at 8 o'clock. And I do know where you can find that.
That is going to be at Biden-inaugural.org slash watch. So you can watch that virtually at 8 o'clock tonight. And I don't know about you, but I'm ready for it. As for Wednesday's agenda, the first thing I noticed was a program that's going to be running from 10 to 12 30.
And it's for young people. So I'm really hyped up and excited about that. Because I just really appreciate the fact that they're thinking about the younger person. And the program is actually called Our White House, an inaugural celebration for young people.
And Kiki Palmer is going to be the host for the show. And it just sounds like it's going to be something that's really entertaining. Sounds like they have lots of entertainers that are going to perform. And other little segments that's going to be something that will keep the attention of a younger person.
So I'm all for that. I'm really excited. I definitely plan on having it playing in the background while my daughter's doing her online schooling, just to make sure that she's in the room where it happened, basically, that she was able to take part in some kind of way shape or form. Now, from there, while that program is going on, at 11 o'clock, Joe Biden is expected to arrive.
And then the ceremony starts at 11 15. That's supposed to run from 11 15 to 11 30. And then he actually gets sworn in at noon. Now, there are a lot of other events that are scheduled for after that.
However, there haven't been times that have been given for those events. And I can only imagine that it could be for safety reasons. Or the fact that once you get a certain ways into the day, you just play it by ear because you never know what's going to happen. And rather than trying to stick hard and fast to an actual schedule, let's just let it flow afternoon after he gets sworn in because that is the one thing that has to take place.
That's the only thing that's mandated. Everything else is fluff. That's a bonus. But it's wearing in at noon.
That's the thing that has to take place. So I don't know. I'm excited. I hope you are too because, oh, boy, have we been in need of a change.
All right. Well, that was today's episode of Tweech Trends. And I thank you. And I hope that you are able to actually plan out a few of the events.
You know, put them on your calendar and see if you can't check in for it. And let me say, once again, I apologize for just getting this information out to you 30 minutes prior to the first event that's happening at 5.30, the COVID-19 Memorial. Hopefully, if you can't catch it live, that somewhere out there in the online world, there'll be a recording of it where you can watch it at some other time, this more convenient for you. And if nothing else, hopefully, you'll be able to catch the 8 o'clock program tonight.
I'll definitely be there because I got a little skin in the game with my alma mater being there, as well as a homeboy from my hometown, as well as from my alma mater as well. So let's get that done on Wednesday, pop your popcorn, and get ready, enjoy yourself, relax, just breathe a sigh of relief. Like, ooh, child, these last four years have been something else. It is long overdue for us to have something new, you know?
So once again, you can follow me on Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube at hevept. That's at hevept. Or just look for the hashtag Tweech Trends. And on Facebook, you can find me at hevept1.
All right, thanks again for listening, and I will see you on the other side of all these inaugural activities on Thursday.
