Tidefall | E15: "I'm Here About A Bomb"

Tidefels here, we're back. It's episode 15 and uh, yeah, how are people doing? We made it through spooky time. Well listeners are fast spooky time.

Right, for us it is only beginning. Yeah, spooky time is yet nigh. Spooky time is forever. Spooky time is a state of mind.

Fair. So we can have spooky time. Uh, we don't talk about games, but if you guys haven't played in description, I just finished it last night. It's a very fun game and it's spooky and weird and it's weird.

It's a spooky position to make it spooky. It's one of my favorite games I've played a long time, so I don't go too deep into it. If you want to blind, it's very, very fun. It's a rogue-like kind of like a spire, but it's much more than that.

So I feel like I never go into games blind anymore. I'll check that out. Yeah, it's it's a fun one. Yeah, it was cool.

So second rack I've gotten for it, so taking it pretty seriously. Yeah. But yeah, it's been it's been very busy for me. Oh my god, so busy.

I finally got around to playing and beating Final Fantasy 7, uh, not Final Fantasy 7, uh Resident Evil 7. Oh, so scary. You're like 30 years too late on that. I'm only four years too late, but thank you.

Well, at least the Final Fantasy 7, that's that's my first like, wait, what? No, I, that was a couple of years ago. No, but I got around to playing Resident Evil 7 finally. I'm terrible at spooky games, and I wanted to.

Oh, I hate it. I hate them. I can't stand them. I wanted to play a spooky game for this Halloween, so I sort of just made myself sit down and power through it.

It's a lot of fun. I liked it. Is that the one that there was a VR version on PlayStation? Yeah, okay.

I assume you didn't do the VR if you're not give a spooky. I don't have a VR headset also. Oh, okay, cool. Yeah, I mean details, but I do not have one of those.

So no, I couldn't. I couldn't. I saw the happy very bad. I saw the happy feedback suits for like Phasmophobia and go, no, no, no, no, no, no, that's okay.

I, I have lived this long to just never ever ever do that. I am totally okay living in ignorance for the rest of my life. I'm super curious about what that even means. Like, does it like tap you on the shoulder or like what?

Yeah, this guy had this sort of graph about where the ghost was touching. And during one of those events, she does hand print clears day on his haptic suit and he's losing his mind. No, oh, so it's not even like some points, like, you can sort of feel like everywhere. So like you could feel like hand wherever you have a haptic.

Yeah. That's not cool. I am out. Cool.

Oh man. I don't have that game. And I don't know if I would enjoy it, but I would enjoy a night of it in VR with a happy fun. If I had a haptic suit, that is.

I get freaked out watching people play spooky video games. So that's too much for me. I I'm, I don't play them often, but when I go, I go all in. Yeah, there's a time period where I was playing through some horror game but I wasn't able to stay up late so I was doing it early before so I could play it at like four in the morning when it's still dark out because I wanted to like yeah that is dedication I wanted to be scared and I couldn't stay up late but I could make up early due to the life situation at the time so I want this.

I've never wanted anything that bad. Hey I was younger like first time ever had a surround sound system played BioShock and that freaked me out because I was playing it at two or three in the morning. Oh yeah that'll do it. Uh the not horror game horror game BioShock yeah for sure.

I mean it's creepy though. I think BioShock yeah I can do BioShock. Yeah it's not a horror game but it's got its moments where it's like ugh right might as well be especially the beginning. Oh wait all right let's go.

Yeah that's one of those games where at the beginning when you're so weak everything is scary but then by the end it's just a straight action romp. Right. Do you remember how this is a video game podcast? Yeah it is today.

Every time. Yeah and the last time. You throw a bunch of nerds in a podcast and they talk about video games but yeah any I guess yeah not video game stuff or should we jump right into the game? Oh it was a cool thing.

Here's the cool thing that I ran across so there's this group in Des Moines that I went to go see a show with called Vagrant Fear Productions. Yeah brand new group and their choice of repertoire is spooky murder mystery like horror plays first time they like locally produced, locally written, locally acted first show they've ever done ever. I saw you know it's the 24th now I saw it on the 22nd and they're hoping to continue to do it and grow so it's like that was a pretty cool thing for a genre that you don't really see on stage all that much. Very cool.

I'm looking that up because that sounds kind of cool. Vagrant Fear Productions is the group. I like murder mysteries. That's all I've got Jeff I'm sorry cool.

Well if nobody has any other real life stuff I'll come back to video games for a second. All right. Stick with what I know. I'm very excited because Ed Walker is about to drop for Final Fantasy 4.

Oh yeah. I am a summoner main and summoner is getting completely reworked and I'm so jazzed to be able to call like if written Titan on people it's going to be amazing. Oh yeah the game likes to record extra tide fall episodes because you're going to disappear into that world. We recorded through the summer didn't we?

It'll be fine. Remember that weekend we did five. Oh no. Cool well if that is that I think we will let our narrative walk us in and then we're gonna start in the game.

And take your star's visual citizens we are keeping an eye on all of you. So at the last part last episode at the very end Araya and Flip and I did have a meds I soon flop on with you when you went on your stick out.

Okay so the three of them go off to the prison to do a stick out. We know that some of the brass guild have been taken prisoner by the guards. There's now concern that something will happen. So the three of them are there.

You guys arrive and it's at this point really late in the night the last couple of episodes is like one long day. Throughout the day you arrived traveling on the city then there was a little bar fight in the evening and then all the other stuff that happened last episode. So you arrive you know evening time nine ten o'clock and you do your stick out and you're looking and you keep an eye out for I assume brass guild numbers coming by is that your plan? Okay so for the first night there's nothing not a whole lot going on throughout the night.

So it's one of those things where you stay for a couple hours and rise days of a couple hours or what's the like plan there. So the night goes uneventful. I assume you stayed the entire night but I won a double check before we moved on. Yeah I think I'll go to sleep for some other I take first watch.

Okay so the three of you are there and you take you sleep a right takes first watch a few hours in the night you get woken up by a rya. Flip it's a it's gonna kind of let you want to keep an eye out. Oh yeah absolutely buddy get some get some shut eye. Okay okay and he curls up and you know curls up and you know next to like a ledge on one of the rooms that you guys are sort of I assume you guys are on a roof somewhere that just sort of is what I was thinking so uh leave them against the wall and get some uncomfortable sleep and you wake up probably with a like a little bit sore because you're again sleeping on a roof.

Though I'm guessing would you have like curled up with flop or yeah definitely okay so you probably have it a little bit easier than he will with you know I was gonna I was gonna like motion for flop to go snuggle with with a rya. Yeah okay so yeah and the night goes uneventful you guys get through the night and it's it's quiet there's not really a whole lot going on in the middle of the night here. I mean once or twice you know patrolman guards come by and they come in and out nothing that like sets off your you know red alarms in your head no grass gilled members that you could tell throughout the night eventually it becomes daytime and it's you know morning suns starting to rise out in the east and it's been quiet. What is your plan are you staying here until something occurs?

Are you waiting to have salt or hair outcome to leave you? You guys have a sort of a couple of leads. I know salt mentioned last time I'm talking with an old co-worker of his but you were hanging here what's the plan it's like morning the next day flip us out keeping an out on on prison what's up deal? So I think I'm gonna wake up a rya and I'm gonna send him back to the inn where we're camped out at.

Okay and just like have send a status update like nothing no suspicious activity at the prison overnight we'll keep an eye out to make sure that nothing happens to I'll keep an eye out to locate a high priority target and he tries to make it sound really cool and spy like okay yeah you added a bunch of like extra fluff words and okay cool good it's really cool all right all right you got to make it sound like we're not just sitting out here in the cold it sort of sucks you got to go out there like we're super spies like we're we're children if he enters super spies and he I think he does uh he does the salt squad um he dabs I didn't want to say it but yes he dabs he dabs he dabs keeping it alive in 21 yep so he heads back to the bar in where you guys are staying um it's morning time salt or hair I assume you guys are getting breakfast down at the like bar section of the inn yeah I think Kara kind of walks downstairs into the the common room and she's just I'm assuming somebody is kind of down there already and she is in a great mood she is super chipper she just kind of walks up to the bar tender who I'm pretty sure she made any enemies with if I remember correctly it's hard to it's hard to remember hair makes a lot of enemies I think she does yeah but she just walks up and she's like good morning how are you doing I would love some coffee and he looks tired that's not too much trouble and then she just kind of whistles uh over and sits down at the table and starts reading it sorry it's really it and he just gives you this like exasperated look oh yeah absolutely and I think she completely ignores it and okay just kind of uh is in a great mood and nothing will spoil it okay uh yeah he like food drinks um I would love some thank you so much that is a kind offer and I will absolutely accept about halfway through that sentence he's turned around to give a start meeting your food he's just like not a morning person he's like oh this is too much energy and you like there's like the audience which here like a small grumpy and he's like frustrated but you don't care you ignore it but he he's like yeah this is not his jam minute two passes and then he comes out with a plate full of um morning you know foods eggs egrets um and then a juice of some form I don't think he'd see liquor in the morning unless you ask for liquor which you didn't so he just brings out a glass of apple juice or whatever apple juice yeah apple juice that is traditional uh yeah so she just starts uh eating her food drinking her her juice uh basically uh pretty much ignoring everything go to better day you uh you get a aggressive tap on your left shoulder uh two minutes in okay who's the aggressor top room so you turn and you see that it's a rya and a rya morning how are you doing do you have a good night last night how let's take it out he gives the salt squad dab and says uh so salt gang mission at positive alpha is a go things are going very well uh me and flip art on the target and uh things are a positive of ma'am and then he does the dab again well isn't that darling good for them what uh what uh what what would now um and then he like looks he's looking around for for salt or joe and I assume you're gonna go down to the bar at this point or someone else would someone else have wandered down I think I am unless somebody else's decided to change that I think you know salt's making his way down he he is not looking forward to headed into the mp like headquarters because uh you know rasmus in is the uh kind of head of the milotape police and uh so he looks around just like oh there's your eye and you can't you know you overheard all that like I wonder what bullshit that's all about uh hopefully that stick out of the prisons going okay um but he doesn't uh head over to the talk he's got a mission and he's got to go do it okay uh so are you taking anyone with you because I think up in the room still is Hera and joe are you heading by yourself you're taking someone and by myself don't uh get too many people sucked into this okay sounds good do you let anyone know where'd you just disappear in the morning um I think I told flip about rasmus and you did yeah yeah but he's currently at uh the prison so i'm sure if you were right because uh you know the way it was playing out of my head the mp headquarters is attached to the prison so he's going to see me oh oh business with rasmus and go as well hope it's good just looking like paris in a chipper mood uh don't know just your bet i think i'll be on my way okay so you head in the direction of the yeah the military police headquarters it's near the prison but not quite attached it's like on the same block all right um so half an hour to an hour goes by to name how rushed you were going but if you're just take your morning as it comes an hour or so goes by and you will arrive at this compound uh flip you would see as you're keeping an eye out you would see salt uh down the road heading towards not the prison but the you know police headquarters do you do you were saying anything or do you just sort of watch and do a thing when you when you do that uh flop like it was to attention like he like stands up and like looks oh no it's fine it's okay i'm gonna point down to where salt is ah and then he like he like looks at looks at you and like there's like a like a like a half dog head like head turn like what now like that whole what's happening thing i think uh just sort of wave we pulled that business good you know cuz salt is like you know just kind of you know walking slowly hands in his pockets and when he hears like oh it just kind of like stops in his tracks does a scan of the buildings and sees flip you know acknowledges and sees you know flip away we just you probably see him as he's like assuredly like oh it's okay to flop um and then you look you know he just looks back down and sees you looking at him right just smirk nod and keep walking we're both gonna have a great day absolutely we are it's you know that's our ammo great days you guys aren't because you guys are one of these other one of these on the street are you guys like yelling to each other it's like you both individually talking to yourselves but you're talking to me kind of having an idea can that be funny yes we are this isn't on can we stop the brass guild right we're the heroes aren't we i don't know anymore that that's fair anyone no flop is the true hero we all know this yeah so after this fake we're not so fake conversation happens uh so it pushes in to the headquarters and it's very formal looking um again the prison is much more you know they're like filing paperwork and getting people you know locked up and like things here is again this is where detective work happens this is where the you know police will if there's an issue happening this is where they'll group up to go out on mission to deal with whatever problems are happening in the city uh there's you know a front desk a bunch of people around but like this front area is kind of empty but you can sort of see behind where there's police happening what do you do so i think i haven't seen how long has it been since you've seen uh recipes in well it's uh i want to say he and i our interactions really came to a head after the super botched uh explore aboard mission that included maximus uh is the last time that we've really like met face-to-face in a while gotcha was he on the mission with you and then he joined the military or was he did someone you like interacted with here and there just i think at that time he was uh just kind of a like low ranking in the military police because uh you know salt scott military training so they definitely you know coming up in tidefall proper you do have a choice to join uh part of the central military um it's usually you know the good way to go uh to get that good and proper servants and of uh central tidefall uh definitely met there you know then we went our separate ways he went into formal like military police and i decided to become a freelance explorer and uh well some things went down and well we wound up crossing paths once again okay after that so it's been since then was there ever a time where you guys were like on opposite sides like in fire fights against each other or in scuffles with the military is that anything that you've come across no or is it just anything where like he doesn't quite approve but he's still a it's one of those like you know of each other but he likes to put duty above any and all else yeah like this is what the law is you don't always land in it and that's not what we do okay so you know like if uh salt could rip his other arm off not to do this he would but you know he's got to play nice okay so when you're in uh the main entry way what do you do i assume you don't just like walk past the front desk right no no i i walk up to the reception desk and go out pearl check in with major rasmuson i sorry sorry what who are you are you what i need to check in with major rasmuson tell him salt's here he'll get a pearl check in okay i haven't had pearl okay yeah that that's and she looks sort of confused because you know the major doesn't deal with pearls very often he's well above that but uh she yeah that's why cause her confusion she pulls out a you know piece of paper writes it down and and you said salt's uh last name that's a just salt and yeah again a confused look at on her and then she writes something else down and then heads back into the station goes into a room and the door is closed uh minute or two goes by and then she comes back says uh uh mr salt yes uh the the major will the major will see you know um we this is unusual he said to send you right in um come this way and she gives you to follow um and oh uh and she looks to you is there obvious weapons and arms that you have no no okay uh do um do you have any weapons i normally no this is what's very unusual about this like he doesn't even have his uh rastinical rotopistol on him okay wow he asked all he's got his arm okay she looks to you and you don't have any like obvious weapons when you ask when she asks you that you like open up your coat to sort of show that you don't have anything hidden yep yep okay she's actually effective now what you see is what it is and i don't think any one of us wants to get any closer yeah she like looks to you you open it up pretty obviously clearly she's like yeah that's come on and she again she's been very flustered this entire conversation she heads in um she knocks on the door once more uh you hear a voice from inside uh come in and then she opens the door and then you see uh the major so and you've not seen him it's been what we say like 10 or 15 years yeah it's been a minute um and he's probably always been a little bit older than you um not older older but you know like a year or two older so he's getting up their age you do see that since you've last seen him he's got a uh a decent sized scar on his left cheek um that was not there last you saw and he looks much he's grizzled like you are right um different type of grizzled he's been dealing with stuff where you've been out in the world but you know he's he's a clearly a light a military life and it shows right he looks up uh and he just looks at you parole no you know you did kind of send me into your scapegoat to pluck around with the brass gala traffic out what they're doing in lieu of a prison sentence he just sort of shakes his head leave us and he directly he like waves uh the you know receptionist out she leaves closes the door right right the uh special prisoner spy program is exactly high on anybody's uh approvalist is it he shakes his head so what uh what do we have for me it's been too long i don't even what what not a hello not how you doing not uh any well he's listing things off he takes it off not even how in the sand shit i lost my left arm in this whole charade yours i i'll be honest i assumed you were dead um oh man it's missing an arm that's well we've all got our challenges yeah it's about to say you're looking off a pretty with that scar and you left cheek yeah he sort of like put his hand up and like sort of like like he doesn't like show up and he'll sort of like rubs it a bit and just sort of like it's not fresh but it's not old either um you know it's not you know sometimes scars have been around for like five ten years they like they sort of like fate and this is still a couple of you know a couple years more recent yeah i got this uh couple years back um yeah brass brass guild started start fight uh well didn't get well for him no what uh what uh what do you have for me after 12 12 years damn near 13 is what i got you know you're standing on a ticking time bomb he just looks at you quiet for a second what yeah i've never known you to be a man who's lost for words evidently the brass guild has been smuggling in bombs under this city for i want to say a better part of five years maybe more hard to tell fuck okay i'm really surprised at the choice of language there major you shake this head it's i knew something was happening you know what my intel is looking in the wrong places i think it's fair couldn't tell the sudden rush of crime spikes caused by brass guild types that didn't kind of clue you off or is that treaty you guys made just all show in no substance we knew something was happening we didn't know where we the crime series has caused us to buckle down on well the crime and we found no explosives so well i will tell you this last night one of your goons arrested two brass guild members they might be the only lead we have to actually find where those things are um where where does occur oh there's a tavern i believe it's called the invisible fox over in the southern section of the city one of your goons picked up two guys so they'd be oh they're here yes they are he like he looks in the direction of the prison that would be to the left of you know where he's at now correct huh that's uh good on your salt yeah just bear me the pleasantries dipshit let's cut to the quick they are your best two leads how are we going to get information out of them because i have a funny feeling they're not going to want to talk to you you know i can't just put it civilian in a interrogation room fair what if they got out a simple prisoner transfer gone wrong if you will he just looks at you dead panned and says nothing for a while just they got out oh no i'm asking if they did because it might be easier to find where the cheese is if you let the rats out if you get my drift you know just again shakes his head i never liked your methods can argue with results can you i'm uh where where are you staying i'm not i'm not entertaining that line right now but uh well be around we're gonna go we're gonna go talk to them you're around are you saying here are you saying somewhere you're just gonna hang out in dispatch until we've dealt with whatever we've dealt with do you think that's a good use of my talents i like i said i'm not putting a civilian in an interrogation room and i don't know causing a breakout is not it's not well in my playbook to say the least well i know there's probably two or three pages in your playbook at the most but i'm not going to be the one to answer to the central bureau when i'm standing on a heap that was once tied fall remember that we're i think closes eyes for second we're we're gonna talk to them and then we'll see we'll see what happens see what they say we'll see what we get but i'll promise you i'm not i'm not uh creating an escape if something happens something happens but i'm not going to be the one coordinating that so it's not not gonna occur so salt takes it all in realize that this was a fool's errand goes all right i guess we're done here and he reaches to shake the major's hand and i can see the major standing up to meet it and right before he grabs the hand he just flips him off like oh here i left you one of these i'll see myself up and i that would be that's your right arm that's your middle arm right uh no it's gonna be with the left arm and definitely flip him off with the robot arm gotcha okay okay cool so he uh after that he just opens the door and like hand motions you he doesn't even look at him he just like motion to leave like just get and like he says like a half sentence and do you leave uh yeah i definitely walk out there's there's no point just like what a charming asshole they sure wasted one when they put teeth in it and as you're walking out you hear the door to his office slam shut and uh you don't hear anything past that you just it just there's a slam and there's that moment of either frustration or satisfaction that you know that you know it's a bit of a frustrated yeah for definitely for solids a bit of both it's like i know i got his goat because he knows how effective my methods are but they are very much not by the book oh yeah no there's no way but the amount of you know logistics that you have to go through or like rules you have to break yeah i'm at the same time he's like frustrated like well i wanted to play the nice way but i guess you're gonna force my hand again aren't you and he walks out of the uh mp headquarters okay so meanwhile herea you're in the bar you finish your breakfast you finish your apple juice uh you are currently downstairs with you finishing up their meals is joe and iria uh hera or leah is still up in the room what are you up to you've got salt ganging with you yeah so i think uh joe has been sound asleep right he hasn't had to do anything uh i mean throughout the night uh he slept in one of the rooms and eventually he would have woken up but yeah he was he was right it was on the stick out perfect uh so yeah she's finishing reading the the paper uh obviously you have to read the uh the business section uh so she's finishing reading the paper um she kind of folds it nicely and puts it down on the table uh and looks at the two of them and just kind of uh says something to the effect of well we're in a bit of a situation huh gentlemen uh awry looks back but salt ganging forward mission is a go if things are things are good right forward mission absolutely uh yes of course right uh whatever you're talking about uh yes absolutely is a thing that's important but i was talking specifically more about the situation where we're well going to like blow up in the week's time oh yeah yeah we got uh care the two yeah seven days great well uh anyone have any ideas about what we're doing to fix that uh joe any ideas haven't heard from you in a while uh he if you're very much like deer and headlights just like uh uh um he had your coffee yet this morning joe yes yes ma'am um so we uh there was the fight with the brass guilds and they were captured by the government and they are going to find out what's going on absolutely so that the government is going to find out what's going on great well good thing we're we're relying on the government for that work aren't we now uh jawaiya you on the other hand any ideas from you this project alpha quick mechanics question uh can i spend a story point to have the government figure out what's going on i think yes i think this would be easier so normally you could spend a story point to create a narrative thing and that is a very very large narrative thing i'll give you three you got three no i'm not i'm a good one i yeah i think that's a bit much even for three but uh good job so uh all right as well ma'am uh i and flip and flop we were watching out at the prison in case any brass guild people came by and that's what the forward mission was and as of now everything is operational and good no brass guild numbers have come yet but we believe that they are going to come excellent well that just fixes everything doesn't it thanks yoraya good job he gives he gives you the salt ganging salute perfect that's boy good boy still a thing so happy about it well gentlemen i figure i have no idea where anyone else is this morning presumably they give a shit but you know what we're not going to wait around for other people to figure out what we need to do to save the day are we let's go ahead and get some shit done today gentlemen uh which one of you wants to stay with uh leah today uh i think yoraya raised his hand i i didn't good good sleep last night so i may want to that great you get some rest buddy uh we'll go ahead and leave you with the uh the prisoner uh just make sure she's in stab you in your sleep okay i will make sure that she is locked up before i fall asleep great good nothing could go wrong with that uh joe you're with me you ready to go let's go out and get some stuff done uh i have a couple of leads we are uh we're gonna do some scouting how does that sound and she just kind of gets up and uh her co-host is behind her on that you know that as the as the two of them get up a rya pulls out his gun that he believes is berta and he looks at it and i'm trying to think would what would what you have given him be close enough to berta that he would recognize immediately but he's got the wrong gun yeah he had a revolver and i gave him a roto pistol okay so he pulls out a gun and he looked at it and there's a look of confusion and does uh do you respond at all to this era i think you would have noticed it uh he's like looking at it and he's shocked uh she looks at it she opens her mouth like she's gonna say something and then she closes it and uh shakes her head and continues uh getting her coat out and walking out the door as as you start walking towards the door you're here from behind you arago uh miss miss hera yeah yep what what can i do for you when when you see mr flip can you tell him that i lost his gun and that i apologize and i will buy him a new one whenever i can but i'm sorry and please don't hurt me that's to you not to flip he would never hurt me but you you may hit me but i wanted to come out and say it right away and i think she keeps looking at him i think the second you like turn to look at him there's a moment where he like flinches a little bit um but then as you continue to let stare him down he just sort of like quietly says nothing yeah yeah sure i'll let him know you lost uh you lost his gun but i have this one so i'll make sure that when when uh leah is being problematic that i will threaten her with this it's just not quite as threatening as vertia was for sure down to his to his feet and looks a little chee-bish uh you know what do whatever you feel you need to do kid just don't kill anyone please uh and she just walks out the door i if she is problematic i will shoot her in the leg and he gives you that kind of boy gives you one final self getting salute and walks upstairs he does the salute he does yeah never mind where do i bother okay joe good days right let's go and the two of you head out uh eventually probably around a similar time um salt leaves the police uh station and hara arrived probably two minutes later and flip it you've been keeping an eye out for uh braskhills can you roll me a perceptify whatever it is in genesis i think it is just perception right that sounds right hold on yep so yeah perception perception that's cool um let me make sure my dice aren't uh funky on my end uh okay you are good to go okay you got a net uh zero success is zero failures and two disadvantage so i think when you are keeping idle things uh you're realizing that the slick you got was not quite as fulfilling as you would like so you're missing uh two stress by the way everyone got an eye sleep so if you're missing it wounds or um when any stress goes away and if you're missing wounds you get i think two one or two went back a day i know there was a fight and we didn't do that on the fly but uh yeah everyone heals a little bit of wounds and all your stress but yeah you would lose two stress uh from that i'm never not well rested i'm fine okay so you keep an eye out you don't really see much but uh you do see salt come out of the precinct and what does he see when he steps out do you look frustrated happy annoyed uh from a third person what does it look like salt is like at the moment it's just kind of this roller coaster like there's very much a sense of like satisfaction in his gate because it's just like how many people get to walk into the you know commandant of the local military police and tell them to go fuck themselves and not have a severe problem because oh yeah but at the same time it's like yeah you walked in and said i'm here to do parole with the major you told them to fuck off right and then you walked away like yeah you're probably one of the only people that can do that to be honest right so it's like that felt good and plain to nice that people uh but the other part is like now what like we need to get to those guys and uh try to figure out a lead but i'm not quite sure like he's going over and he said like how the hell can we do this okay you know kind of wish like man if only i could have saw like a piece of paper or something on the desk as i passed out of it or as i walked out that i had the patrols on for the day but as you're mulling this over uh flip sees you in this you know thought process here i turn around the corner down the street uh he just sees like the the swagger in his gate and just like yes uh and then uh the doors of the precinct open up and three um well three men uh two of them detectives one of them a like patrolman guard with uh heavier weaponry is essentially just in case uh steps out and uh bump into you and sort of push you out of the way as they're heading down to the actual prison hey fuck please business sir just get and they like the the guard with the larger weapon sort of like funds on you a little bit um just to like get you out of the way as they're as the detectives are going into clearly do the job that you wanted to go do flips hand reaches for a time okay so think you know it's uh salt kind of like stumbles he's piecing it together like late in that and i think after a little bit he starts tailing after him okay um Hera can you roll me a perception check to see how much of this you notice because this is also sort of happening at once and flips he's because he's looking at it but you're sort of down the street heading because you were coming to the station as well i seem right yep okay so roll me a perception check um eiks i was gonna add another purple on top of that you felt the way so yeah you you felt um so so i think i think you are in the midst of a conversation that you don't care at all about with joe he's talking about something you have no idea what you've been talking about he's been talking for five minutes you don't know what it is so anyways the ball you kick the ball to the other people joe is that what you're telling me and then like whether to get some sort of point like how does that make any sense joe it's it's not a ball it's a club and you but then what happens if you drop it well if you if you drop it then that is what's called a shimlery and it's a penalty you know why are you explaining this for the eighth time i think it's stupid and i think you should talk with your other friend about this okay because i don't give a shit i was trying to explain the thing that we're trying to do is kind of like a play in the game um that the offensive team does to juke out the defensive team joe was not if it were anything like the current situation it would be a lot less dumb okay do people blow up in the stupid game of yours no they don't only in triple extreme over time um at the end of the playoffs of course triple extreme over time definitely definitely a thing to care about um and i i'm guessing either flip or uh salt would overhear some of this uh frustrated conversation but salt you were wanting to follow these guys yep okay so maybe it's maybe i'm guessing then um flip would overhear this as salt is tailing in these guards uh yeah so i would peer over like the side and i would see this happening uh so i've got like two things that i need to sort of tie together so uh recalling earlier uh in the day uh he looks over at hara and and and joe and does kakka kakka once again flop goes into the position like we're hunting now um looking out and she's right there i'm just gonna i'm gonna roll uh to see if uh joe notices uh joe does notice he looks up at you and then he waves it's just like starts waving his hands like no don't no don't there's there's like a moment to really like he like waves his hand and then he realizes what he's doing so it's like it's very brief it's like a half second um he feels he feels the stare from hara uh good thing you're so pretty good um um here i do it obviously notice the way if you look at him you look up at the roof you probably overheard barts at the kick off it didn't quite connect what it was until the dummy started like a half second of a wave hey hey joe buddy as she says kind of grabbing him around the neck and like pulling him i i stopped before i was too aggressive i wanted to say hi yeah buddy you know what a secret stake out you know what the operative word in there is and she's like pulling it along by the neck as if they were best friends but somehow missing trying to interrupt the lecture kakka yeah try fucking see your fucking kakak let's keep walking around the corner and see if we can maybe be a little bit more subtle next time we walk by that's why i stopped my way i wanted to be sneeze like trying desperately to draw their attention to salt heading into the present so salt is following these people uh can you how subtle are you being are you trying to be like stealthy are you trying to just like i don't care i'm gonna walk in what's your strategy here like he's hanging back you know just a little bit it's like you know we've already had what could be a potential problem because you know they ran into me and you know salt's gonna say some stuff um so there's that right it's just like he doesn't want them to deter from their course really because he's kind of curious like you know they're gonna go in there is are they actually like he's going off this big hunch that they aren't actually uh military police that they might not be who they are so he's just tailing them to see what happens but he doesn't want them to know that he's coming behind since they've already had an altercation already okay uh okay roll me a uh either stealth or skull doggery either one works i'm not too particular i'm giving a black eye because they already kind of saw you in front of you so they're sort of keeping an eye out for you um which street wise um street wise yeah when i i can't remember the difference between street wise and skull doggery so i'll give it to you all right then i'm going to use it all right you ready yep and rolling so i see a wash now nothing natural on that what does natural do we get i get to reroll it once oh if you're gonna roll in again yes i do there you go okay so you uh sneak up behind these guys and you're able to stick to the crowds and i feel like you're not using stealth using street wise so instead of like crouching behind barrels and you know trash bins you're sticking to the crowds you know you're you know leaning against wall talking to people you're acting like you're in the right place right and eventually these guys uh head to go into the actual prison itself and as far as you can tell from your limited information um or limited time interacting with the major they appear to normal people to be military police without further investigation or like checking what they've got on them or again more detailed investigative work you can't really tell from this but as far as you can tell you're able to follow them to the precinct and they seem to be on the level do you try to go into the precinct because that's a larger problem or more difficult task if that's what you want to do right so thank you know it's you know it's a busy street it's a big city um he gets like cross the street from the annual looks you know you've got uh you know concrete jersey barrier esc walls very thick you've got you know arm guards out front that acknowledge the three is they go in and uh you know getting in isn't going to be something you can figure out yeah it that would be a difficult thing to just like quietly follow like it's not as simple as like walking you know following someone who'll tell or something right right so okay yeah the three of them walk inside and disappear in the building what do you guys do i think i guess i just get this point here i would have gotten to the back of the building and found a scaffolding making the lead up to the roof correct yeah uh i think Cara uh walks around the building uh and yeah finds a ladder a couple buildings away and makes it makes our way over to where the mysterious bird noises were coming from okay so are you also heading up to meet up with them uh salt i think right now he's just kind of posting up on the on street level because you know a couple things going around and just head like there's no way for the amount of feelers that rasmuson has that he didn't know something was coming and to have that quick of a turnaround uh to send people in to go interrogate these prisoners just seems very out of place so he's kind of sitting there watching the crowds making sure nothing hostile happens but he's also kind of looking at the buildings above like can i get a top-down view of this uh prison try to figure something out okay and from what you can tell i mean the building that flip is on is a pretty good uh like you know look out location because it can fairly clearly see both the prison and the precinct which are you know within the block of each other um getting above there's not like majorly tall tall buildings on this in this sort of sector of town so it's not like that you know you can find the tallest building and look and like scaffolding or like nothing like that it's just not that large of an area but yeah you do know that as of now things seem quiet there's definitely things happening inside the building but you're not sure what or where uh do you just want to like hang out on the street for a bit yep okay okay so harry gets on top of the building to where flip is i guess to be harry and joe get on top to flip and and what do you do what do you say so i don't know that i want to know the answer but bird noises doesn't seem very subtle uh only you and salt looked up here so uh did the job i sure sure raised his hand i i looked up to yes good job joe so anything exciting happened with sorry uh you don't have to remind me again what was the the plan name operation power forward absolutely that's a name good job uh anything worthwhile happen uh not until just now we need just now what happened salt came out of that building and it pointed over to the police uh the police building the precinct uh and then those there's a pair of guys they bumped into him and it was really freaky and i was getting ready to like throw down um but then salt didn't do anything so i stood down and then they went into the prison and now salt is posting up down there i think something's going on in the prison with her with the the rascal people okay great so nothing has happened we are in fact no closer to uh doing anything about the imminent doom in seven days would you like me to do something i was going to go into the prison uh well when you get uh thrown in jail for causing a scene in a prison uh seems if you don't want to propose something or just shoot down everybody else proposes well yeah i was going to propose we uh go uh rate the braskill uh base nearest us and uh start beating some heads open until we find someone who's uh willing to talk to us you know what that sounds really great i thought you would say that joe can you go carry a message to salt for us uh yes yes sir you you want to give this message apparently the last one got a little muddled uh i i do not embellish stories oh i don't want i don't want to give the message oh i do embellish stories i i'm i'm okay i can just go i can go get him i think he needs to stay where he is and he might need backup but if harry and i are gonna go crack heads then i am the best backup and he pulls out his uh he pulls out his gun oh uh and he looks to harry and he's there's a pause and then he looks to flip uh of ryan lost burta uh oh shit he told harry he wanted to apologize he feels really bad he's gonna find a way to pay you back but he lost yeah don't worry about it because he says he's gonna find a way to pay you back doesn't that make you feel better i forgot to tell him that i took it so really bad i mean really he was what he's gonna cry what do you took it i had this idea for like a revolver mod and i just grabbed the nearest revolver and it against the wall and just kind of sits and watches with her arms okay eventually the two of you break apart and what do you guys do you go you make sure salt does whatever salt needs to do and you let them know where we're going hara where are we going well we happen to pass uh to breast gill bars on our way here from hotel so uh i was just gonna go into the closest one and uh start smashing stuff up and this is joe says if the two of you can take on all of the breast well three of you can take on all the breast gill to come well i'm gonna ask nicely you know talk to somebody but you just said you were gonna start smashing things yeah after i asked nicely come on joe where's the team spirit here he looks to he looks to flip are you sure the three of you okay uh yeah i'll i'll let salt know that you guys are gonna go smash up a brass gill bar to get information i thought a literal and metaphorical monster made up of my failures i can handle this oh okay okay a surge of pride just watches come on joe be a team player and she just kind of starts walking back towards the the scaffolding assuming that she's gonna be followed yeah joe joe knobs follows i think he he pulls out his gun and he like does a quick like inspection cleaning up as he's walking with you guys just to make sure something bad doesn't happen next fire but you guys get in um and then climbs down the ladder after you guys are done uh yeah flip will go ahead and just ride flop down the side of the wall oh yeah that's right he just climbs up the wall perfect flop doesn't do well as scaffolding no cool so eventually uh and do the two of you pass by salt when you go or do you guys go in different direction we go around back i don't think we pass by okay yeah and i head we go the opposite direction makes sense so the two of you split ways one of you two if you go north and then joe goes south salt you see joe approaching um as he's like holstering his weapon in his uh side um holster uh mr salt yes uh hera and flip and flop said that i should tell you that they are going to braskill bar to smash up the place to get information but i'm here to help you with whatever it is that you've got going so if we get in a firefight i'm your guy and he like pulls his jacket back to reveal the little road of pistol that he's got flips us understand why but his spine straightens up with pride so unread all these pride moments you know well go ahead and hide that no need to brandish it in broad daylight i yeah yeah he like covers it a little bit too quickly um they're gonna go start problems at braskill bar are they they said that they were gonna gather information and then flip his fought monsters so he can deal with people well i like him definitely attested that last one um that might work in our favor if they make enough of a distraction they're definitely gonna send out a dispatch from here that might allow us a little bit of entry time okay well for now stand here and keep your eyes open for anything uh out of the ordinary yeah he gives you a quick nod and then yeah leans up against the building like you are to keep an eye out on things meanwhile you guys head to the nearest braskill bar what uh what is your plan is it head in and like so what's the sick what's the signal here is looking around on the street in front of the bar i think it's just like a it blends into the rest of the buildings on the street um but there's a big glass window kind of in the front with the name on it's the crooked cog is what the bar is called okay um and it probably wasn't always a braskill bar because historically the brass girls do not have much for presence in tidefall but yeah recently they've recently they've been gathering more and for whatever reason that name stuck with them and they've just been gathering a lot more so it's over the past six months of a common grasgill bar but it's not that it's a bar that's always known as a braskill bar it's just one of those oh it's this makes sense let's use this one and they've adopted it on the on the window like the little there's a little picture of a cob like a cog and then some like cute kind of cursive lettering um like nice and antique heat um and so but they've been kind of like painted kind of an orange metallic color um and there's kind of like a little symbol in the corner that like demarcates it as a braskill hangout that if you know yeah and it's it's one of those things where like the official sign does not have it but there's a little market they've done it's kind of like the pelpins it's your secret code the crooked cog so uh the two of you see this you look inside and you can tell that it's not again manhood is not running this place but you can see that a decent percentage of patrons are raskill members um what's the plan you can see them from the outside you see the little sign you see the marking what do you do so here is kind of uh looking looking around on the the ground and eventually she kind of finds like a loose brick okay and she uh kind of like picks it up and uh starts kind of tossing it from one hand uh to the other and she kind of turns to flip uh and kind of keeps tossing it back and forth and says okay flip yes i know we've had our differences in the past we see the world in very different ways and the situations which we've been in have obviously been been difficult for everybody would you would you agree with that yes but there's a moment where i think flip just flashes back to all the moments here it's been like like this is like like a brief moment where it's like remembering times that she's like bonk him on the head or whatever yeah the times where she hit me in the head those are the times i'm remembering not the times where we like almost broke up the party i mean those two very normal uh and so she just kind of she starts pacing kind of flipping the the brick from one hand to the other uh and just kind of keeps going with her tirade uh do you like me to be in charge of the brick no no flip uh i'm going somewhere with this hold on a second okay please don't hit me with the brick my point is flip we've been through a lot and although we haven't always seen eye to eye and we haven't always agreed necessarily on on which direction that we're heading in i think now is finally a time that we can come together put our differences aside and and really get to the bottom of what's happening here and try and do some some good in the world does that make sense i think i see where you're going great because i'm uh i'm really getting frustrated and uh i'm really really wanting to figure some shit out you know what i mean buddy yes and she kind of turns around and she lobs the brick straight through the window there's an immediate crash uh the brick flies through i would like to chase the brick through the window okay uh roll me a coordination check because you're jumping through a window with broken glass loud like bark but he's like a low girl like ready to to go um would you after noon find patrons of the crooked cog i'm here about a bomb uh here i just kind of like uh opens the door and there's like a little tingling bell she kind of opens the door walks through uh brushes some invisible dust off of her coat uh and just kind of announces to the bar uh yes what he said immediately when you say the word bomb uh there is a number of patrons that like freak out and start screaming uh they and like i hope you like keep part of bomb what's going on is he gonna kill us and like not all of them the normal looking people that just happen to be in this bar when this occurred are freaking their shit out uh those of you with weak constitutions i would advise to leave now and yeah on that uh her uh roll me a apoletics check because you are going to get potentially stampeded by a crowd of people that think they're about to be blown up uh yep i'm gonna mind okay i would like to spend a goddamn story point for that because i uh so you can spend you can spend you can spend a story point to buy success on a tie but if it's just if it's just a failure i don't think you can use it to like a reroll it's only used to like make your dice better darn do i have any you failed yeah if you've got like a feat or a talent that can like modify this otherwise otherwise so what occurs um one you failed you got three advantage uh with that advantage you can do with it as you will but what i will say is you are knocked to the ground as this crowd of people just barrels into you and they're freaking out screaming they think i have a counter to that okay i would like to use rapid reaction in which my character can suffer a number of strain to use this talent to add an equal number of successes to vigilance or cool check i would like to argue that i can make a vigilance or cool check uh can i do that yeah let's uh because i think like cool or vigilance makes sense yeah i can see that yeah what's let me what's your difference between athletics and vigilance is what would be here um if they're similar enough we may just count as that it is um plus it's the same it's three it's the same oh perfect okay so and how many ranks do you have three three okay so um you got three successes what i want to say is you take three strain you can spend those three advantages to essentially get the strain back and you just get three successes yeah so yeah you do that you basically you lose three gain three it all evens out you gain three successes and yeah basically these guys are running towards you when you quickly like duck out of the way and like slide between people um they try to like push you and you just you hold strong the looking badass part is really important part of the narrative yeah yeah yeah it's also about yeah exactly and it's not that you keep them from leaving it's more of a just like you hold it looks like you're about to be run down you don't want you hold strong and then the bar is probably 30% of you at this point um the people oh let me make i'm going to check to see if the people working the bar also ran because a bomb was just announced they may have also just run um good players yeah every the the bartender um a few of the bar maids like everyone that you can see obviously in the like entryway they've all left right now it is just the two of well the three of you and a number of grascale numbers that have essentially taken over this the front way of this bar so the bar's probably like half full at this point uh what do you guys do well now that we have that out of the way i think a couple of them they don't draw weaponry but they reveal weaponry in its threatening way i do so in kind okay motherfuckers uh so i i i'm gonna make one other check to see i'm gonna test i'm checking it quick um okay so uh yeah a couple of them reveal reveal their weaponry you reveal yours and what do you say immediately or what do you my job is to make sure like no one comes in and no one leaves okay uh so he stands up walks uh towards the two of you I'm gonna roll obviously even this flip okay so he walks up the flip and he's not tall but he's much taller than you it looks down to you and he sort of like leans down to sort of look at you eye level flip that's your name excuse me what okay um he pulls something out excuse me what and he like he's like looking at you eye like you know sort of like doing that thing where he's like talking to a kid right uh and you've got did you say you've got a weapon out or you've got I just showed it like everybody else I want to draw him yeah um so he pulls out uh this thing he's got it's got something small in his hand and then uh you should have if this isn't chotchky I'm gonna lose my shit yeah it's not a chotchky for a brief minute he comes up to you it you know uh does uh flip not a shake hands and he puts his hand out you kind of like looks at his hands looks at the guy's hands um when you look at his hands they look very much like they are burnt um he's like clearly been around chemicals or bombs or things like he's very he's very much burnt like you were back in the past you're looking for some money I'm shaking hands it's a term of respect so what do I do well you and he like he's got his one his right hand out you take your right hand and you put it in mine and we grip each other and shake it up and down okay so like a hand hug he just nods quietly and your right arm is that your flush leave arm yes okay cross so uh you shake and when you shake he holds it a little bit good um and it's a little bit tight and he does that thing he likes to squeeze it but he can't do anything yeah it doesn't work and then in his left hand he's got this small ball and then what he does is he presses a button on it and he puts it in your hand uh do you know what that is so let's flip throw it behind the bar but no he's still holding it in his hand oh god as i put it in my hand he's holding it's like about to put it in your hand yes i have an idea and i pull my hands back he holds it steady uh let's do an opposed uh athletic check because he's like he wants explosion of sorts i reach for berta with my left hand okay so the two of you i want to know about bombs and i know plenty of things about bombs uh what questions do you have and i think what he does is he he puts um the fire essentially the the bomb on on the table uh or no i guess how close are you to the table that here is sitting at uh is he sitting at the door and she went up the first table right yeah so probably decently close okay so maybe no i think i think i just hold i think this hold in his hand then because it's like it's not like within like a reaching distance and he wouldn't like step away so he's still just holding this bomb so what questions do you have i think he probably turns to hero but he's got uh flip you know in his like weird like handshake but flip his kind of being held hostage when he's got a bomb in his hand so what questions do you have well first of all i would be great to know who i'm talking with right now uh you can call me humat great well uh first question uh seven days correct is that's how long we have based on the original timeline yeah seven days and everyone in this room presumably knows that the plan is to destroy the city of tidefall and uh kill everybody still on on in the city correct uh destroy the city of tidefall and kill everyone on board and know incorrect okay so you know apologies uh it's been a long week i'm mistaken uh so that you're saying that's not the plan i'm saying that you're incorrect great well uh if you could go ahead and fill me in that would be really helpful uh if this is like hangman if she keeps making questions that's fine i'm just can continue so hypothetically what would you uh say to uh let's say negotiating let's say have something that you wanted what would it take for you to maybe let me warn people and let people get out of the city before this hypothetical event happens well the hypothetical event where there's a bomb in the city that you believe will destroy the city and kill everyone on board hypothetically sure hypothetically um what i'm going to say is that the plan does not account for that the plan is the plan and we have ways to help the city and to make things better are people going to die some people may die yes um people who people who are innocent people who haven't done anything or aren't involved in any of this brass gels shit potentially do they have a chance to to know what's happening will they be taken surprised when things occur it'll be very clear and people will have time to deal with what they need to deal with and then we will assist as necessary but oh so this is some sort of if you're in so much control right now and you feel the need to talk vaguely about your plan why not just give us the specifics you're in charge right i'm a member in charge yes but we we don't just tell everyone our plans um we're not what what what's this game we're playing what are you looking for i'm just curious why two uh terrorists came into this bar to gonna be honest with you we've got a lot of bad things to get here but terrorist is the first time charge for us it's kind of kind of interesting uh there's there's some other title that they've given the slender object in his hand what happens when that when that goes off um a very rapid heat um and then usually burns mm-hmm how big just hypothetically uh and he looks around um well you're five me to you in a circle or so interesting and is it is it automatic or do you have to trigger it i she like leans forward kind of towards it and like she's interested in like the mechanics or the engineering of it flip gives her a really freaked out look a rapid uh deceleration um basically when it strikes something it will occur or something strikes it it has to strike something or when something strikes it yes throwing it on the ground kick it shoot it there's a number of ways but only after it's been activated right now he holds up and shakes it the chemicals inside are uh active and when when he shakes it i feel like the moment where flip like cringes like you feel like it's gonna blow up in his hand yeah like a white noise like me in his ears starts to go off yeah um and then flip you are going to attempt something i would like to work my hand out of the flesh sleeve if i could okay um is there a slight of hand check no coordination is a thing would you like me to sleeve in the same moment but it's damaged a bit yeah i think harrah sees him kind of like adjusting his like hand a little bit like however he's got his hand moving in the same moment uh i think uh harrah uh pulls her pistol out and like in a very quick like combat maneuver um she grabs uh grabs him by the uh helmet by the arm and then like kind of twists his arm back and puts pulls her pistol out and puts it to his temple okay i'm assuming i'm gonna have to roll for that yeah yeah yeah you're gonna have to roll uh okay roll me i feel like in that case that would be an athletics check and not necessarily a vigilance because you're trying to like overpower him and get in control can he have a black dice because he's so caught off guard by my yeah what i'll do is i'll give uh harrah a blue dye they may kind of get the same thing because i want to because harrah's yeah right right so he's drawn adversary okay okay yeah i don't have anything else for that okay all right i'm gonna of nothing so it just sounds dangerous yeah yeah um so we're in sort of an impasse i have this bomb you have that gun if you shoot me the bomb drops hits the ground goes off it's problematic on all sides so what i'm going to suggest shoot i don't want to suggest we're still having a conversation here flip no need for violence we're just chatting i can catch what i'm going to suggest is we go our separate ways uh you run on my job uh i have plenty of men he looks around and at this point um everyone in the bar has pulled out their weapon in their aiming at you could you kill me probably um the bomb would probably go off but maybe your little friend here could catch it um what he will also catch what he will also catch is well the he looks around and as he looks he's like turning his head left and right are you like keeping the gun because he doesn't care that you got a gun in his heart he's like nonchalantly talking about all this are you like trying to hold his head steady are you like moving the gun to keep it or just like what's it look like because he does not care at all we're able to aim to his head equally cool as a cucumber we are it's nothing has changed in in we're still just chatting we just have to be chatting in uh different circumstances yeah so he he may catch uh the bomb that's true uh what he will also catch and you and he looks down i'm not sure about the other one um depends on how things react um but the 20 or so of my men that have uh a variety of small and large arm weaponry aimed at you you'll also catch them things will not go well um my job is already effectively done you are not my job uh instead we could go our separate ways um i gave you some other information i told you where you were wrong i told you where i didn't want to tell you things uh but there's other people that deal with you and you can go attempt to stop us if you want you know that's an interesting proposal but i have to say uh i think maybe i'm not quite done with and all their guns will kill the three of us so you say there's no other bombs in this building just the one you have for what this carny show well and he looks down he's got a band of leader of these things on his chest i mean i have these um but no i i don't i don't what happens when those blow up can i borrow one of those it it will make a very focused uh high intensity explosion um the three of us well and the dog will perish uh it will go very badly we don't want that none of us want that so we we leave pass what are you gonna do pass i think that we're going to cut to the police station so uh assault yep you've been hanging out here for probably an hour or so right um and eventually there is a commotion and you hear people like yelling in the distance um eventually it comes like you hear word of bombs is what is what comes it's like bombs bombs there's something going out the bar um a couple people mentioned the uh crooked cog a lot of this is sort of occurring all at once you're actually just sort of waiting for something else to occur so you know picks up bombs crooked cog and then uh turns to uh it's joe's up there right joe did you get a name on what bar they went to uh no fuck there's bombs involved let's go okay so you uh head off to in the direction of the cricket cog uh roll me a perception check can i have that perception heightened by one uh yeah that gives you a blue right yes okay all right rolling uh that is a net no success is but for advantage if you want to buy a success you can it's up to you that's i'm going to buy it by mostly using ready for anything guards also heading in your direction running towards uh the bar so you're out in front with joe as block or so back as a number of guards and they've got their um do you remember and this is probably again bringing back bad memories uh the romarines that have the um arranged like rifles and they are the ones that cause you to call they've got the special like grapple spears and wide shield things like the yeah a number of them are running behind you and there's a moment where you think they're chasing you and then you realize wait no they're going the same way i am but there's that flash of like oh no like that wait i do it yeah yeah and the group of you are running towards the bar again you're ahead of them so i cut back oh go ahead so i'm gonna do because i have a little advantage i see three i can learn the true goal of my target can i get the goal of this group of uh Marines yeah uh their goal uh is to go stop um they don't know so it's the brass guild but they want to go stop and they're assuming it's the brass guild but they want to they want to stop the bar fight they want to deal with whatever whatever bomb is going on at the cricket cog they want to go stop it disarm it to get people out to save it whatever they do they're heading there they're not looking for you they're looking to stop whatever commotion is going on the bar because normally it's just like a bar fight this is probably a big good bar fight right okay okay okay cut back to the bar uh so what i can tell you miss uh your name was what again? Hera. Hera Miss Hera what i can tell you we don't know her name but you know my name uh i'm just i mean flip you're right it is in terms of who has the more memorable name i feel like between flip and Hera seems like it's just kind of willful route she's she's always said your name five or six times at this point um i think she likes to say i'm not sure why uh but needless to say we've got a lot of things happening here uh and could i send someone to go yes i could uh it would take them an hour or so to go find someone uh my people here other people are aware it's kind of embarrassing for you right i mean god how many times does if you're in charge like it's kind of embarrassing that like you have to get rescued by someone else to higher up than you right like i mean i would be embarrassed here right um so yeah it would be a shame if they walked in and someone with a bunch of bombs is being restrained by a handful of vigilante heroes yeah it would be pretty bad i think for your image help tell you what how about you hand all of your weapons over to my friend here and then i hand my weapons over and then we could just have a conversation right that's fair he looks to the two of you maybe at a different bar yeah we this one is a little bit um burnt and i think that uh there's a yell from there's there's a yell from outside uh yelling um everyone hands up and like you guys look and there's a number of people with rifles and those like extender spears outside uh salt where would you have been when they were getting to the bar do you really run in or do you like you could see them catching up on you so i think you know you kind of stepped aside i was like shit not again all right wait they're gonna wear so i think he's actually like in behind the barricade line uh as they're approaching this bar so he's kind of like that was supposed to be the place that's definitely worked over enough so he's kind of like scanning how do i get in there and not have these idiots notice okay so you're like off on the side they yell everyone hands up um and i think that's where you take our quick uh break uh we'll be right back to pick what happens at the bar let's get spicy yeah in more ways than one whoo yeah you you're not good people we're bad so yeah shit is wild at the moment uh salt is outside there's a number of guards so it's a title shit is wild shit is wild don't think we'll be a wild guy we'll be a little bit more than the algorithm probably not but you know who gives me you know yeah that's for example i don't need to decide kind of kind of get this by like saturday night is all right for fighting yeah absolutely so salt is outside um there's probably 15 or 20 guards a number of them have their rifles aimed at the building a number of them have in one hand the shield and the other hand is like the extender spheres wait they need to aim at the people on the building well they're aiming at the building but they're people inside probably a number three broken window that you guys opened up to make a clear line fire line and yes very much so uh inside the building we've got hera flip flop and hollamat in the center um hollamat has a hand on a grenade um currently flop i forget it's been like half an hour did you succeed on your break free check yep i'm i've slipped out okay how close are you got the right next to it okay um so and the here has got this guy with a gun aimed at his head and then everyone in the bar has a variety of small large arms fire aimed at the two of you and really the three of you because hollamat's also in the midst of things oh my god help he's got a bomb so so what happens now lots of guns are aimed at everyone things are going to get messy we can tell your guys to slip out the back let's start there let's get them out of here i mean we can't the the city guard won't just watch as 25 people disappear out the back things don't work that way so here's why we drop their weapons then so here's what i suggest we walk out the back couple of us go a couple of my men go ready to deal with things and we go our separate ways let the city guard resolve things as they see fit i say we all get arrested yeah i'm feeling like that's probably uh probably the only way to send this buddy uh i would uh i would get rid of that bomb pretty quick here i mean the bomb's been activated uh it takes a while to deactivate these things and right now we don't have time so put it on the ground and let's walk away from it he puts it down to the ground and then he uh he whistles something no it's whistle it's always a whistle and then he kicks it over to one side it was like not a kick kick but like it's like light tap so it rolls uh to one of the side of the table or like one side of the bar and one of the guys with a pistol aimed puts the pistol on the table that he's like had it like you know held with puts the pistol down grabs the bomb starts tinkering with it taker is bad uh bomb resolved uh gun please uh well i don't feel super happy that you still have all of these bombs uh so maybe you should hand those over first i mean it's attached it's it's it's a whole thing and we don't time is uh important now yeah you're right it is and so i think hara hara shoves him towards the door um are they they can see the city guard can see it at this point right they can see in they don't necessarily know what's going on they just see right now they see an old man with something some things on his chest they don't necessarily see what they are they just see an older gentleman being held hostage by you okay perfect uh hara so as you sort of do you push him towards the bar door i push him towards the bar door and i try and hook my feet underneath his ankles and push him down on his knees with the gun still to his head when when you do that the guards yell out release the hostage ma'am we have you surrounded as like a number of rifles are aimed at you uh does he successfully is he down on his knees with his hands up um tonight yell at him to put his hands up he he accepts you yeah he he allows you so he doesn't even fight back so yeah here here you push him to the ground hara puts her hands up okay uh and she looks back to flip and says uh yeah you should probably put your hands up yeah uh okay uh and flip kind of like puts all other ideas out of his head it praises his hands there's a moment where you flash forward through like your time lines where it's like i could have shot them like like and there's like the flash of like it's the doctor strange i looked through all the futures and this is the one that every it's like a montage of like the bar exploding every time every time you guys go to a bar something explodes yeah how much i've come to bargain okay steampunk time stone asking for a friend uh so this is occurring salt what are you doing during this because you sort of went to the side to try to see if you get in there quietly are you trying to find a side entrance are you sitting near the front door to see what happens in case they need assistance what's your game plan so i'm trying to see if there's a side entrance where i can uh get a better angle on things okay um so as you go around the building there's not a side entrance but what there is a lot of these bars they've got a surface entrance in the back um kind of like that's what leah escaped in in the last bar that you guys got into a bar fight in um lots of bar fights in this campaign right uh so yeah there is a surface engine you can get into which is not locked okay so i uh open the door open i go in okay so you sneak inside uh how what is your agility i'm not gonna make checks i'm just curious like in general how stealthy quiet sneaky are you agility is at a three three okay so yeah you're not a fumbling fool um give me ranks and stealth one okay yeah so right now there's so much going on and you're trained in it you don't even know because there's literal firefights between the brass guild and the city guard and you know the leader your friends there's lots of happening don't think that you you're able to get in you go through the kitchen area and eventually you like you crack open a door and realize that door is going to essentially directly behind the bar um and you can see into the room uh inside of the room you see that there are probably 20 or so brass guild numbers most of which have guns aimed at Hera and Flip and an unknown man and currently uh there is a man near the front um by a bunch of broken glass actually did you so did you push him down into the ground like at the entrance where you came in okay um his legs are now bleeding because he pushed him to broken glass um man that feels good and are you like holding an execution style like boondock saints absolutely okay um wait i said i with one hand up no boondock it's not going to not either way uh or no i'm so bad at things it's been a long time it's a long night uh so yeah you've got them you're holding him essentially except what with that with one hand up i don't think that technically counts uh for the purposes of uh rescuing a hostage but i think we'll say yeah Hera slowly is raising her gun away from from his head okay so initially you push him down to the ground you hold the gun to the back of his head and then you quiet and then you know yeah you know release the man hold your hands up and you know you immediately have you've got many many many guns aimed at you at this moment um that is everybody yeah specifically you but yes yeah and you slowly raise your gun up and you're doing the thing you like aim it towards the ceiling like you know fingers out essentially that whole like okay uh and they yell out uh put your weapon down back away from the prisoner and what do you do do you follow instructions yep i back away slowly uh okay so what is flip insults doing during all of this currently uh salt you would see that the rest of the brass goes to hold their weaponry aimed at Hera and uh flip the guard outside it's hard to see from where you're at if you got like a crack but it looks like there's no guns aimed at Hera at the moment what do you do and or flip if you have something you're going um you know uh salt's kind of go over in his mind is like is there a way he can get a smoke screen going but all that's in front of him is rags and alcohol like well that's a molotov no no no so he's just trying to figure out you know how he's not trying to play it yet but he just doesn't want to take his head out you're just sort of waiting for something to happen okay well waiting but also like trying to mill over his options um two questions one did Joe come he followed you here did he come into the building with you i don't think he did okay uh question two you currently are unarmed correct oh yeah yes yes i am okay i just want to make sure that you came into this i mean i'm armed i'm robot armed just robot armed no no weaponry other than your hands okay cool uh flip uh what are you doing during this very tense moment i am waiting for instructions from the nice people with guns okay so you currently you never pulled that weapon you were just sort of like threatening to pull out a weapon so you're just sort of waiting okay uh hands up i assume yeah i've already raised my hand so if i take anything i'm in deep shit yep you're good um and i think at this point flop is like sitting down as low to the ground as possible like everyone is yelling um and he sees that you're being submissive so he's being submissive in his own in a way basically yeah um other than the whole like belly raising like he's getting as low to the ground as possible uh and a couple of the guards started moving towards the group of you specifically Hera and Hallmont and when they approach um like they've got again weapons raised they approach they approach and then two of the guys with spears uh run at Hera and tackle her to the ground with like spear out they basically like bash into her to like get her to the ground because right now they think that she is the main threat they tackle you with the ground Hera you immediately take um let's roll close this is a fun kind of damage right yeah um the one that immediately grants successes yeah uh no this is the part where you get uh you get tacked out of me no you get tackled into glass um you take uh five points of wounds as you just get like cut the fuck and these guys tackled you they actually try to think of that no that wouldn't ignore you know you still have your you don't get your like armor but if you've got brawn that'll reduce that damage um because like they essentially tackle you and you've now got two men on you grabbing like tying you up while also you're landing on glass which is yeah uh i got two so three three points yeah okay okay and i see you're currently at eight wounds did you hit yourself at the session uh no okay so yeah you would uh heal two in the down three so basically you're down to seven okay got it you arrested over the night because you got it wasn't like a rest it was like a lot of that's actually a proper sleep so you got two inside one got it so you're down to seven um they talk to the ground and then they tie you up with uh manacles um the fun kind of manacles the fun no the police kind of manacles and then later and then um everyone else uh they yell at the people in the bar weapons down hands up and i think at that point after they've taken you down um and i think when they do that home on whistles something and then everyone follows is like he doesn't whistle no one knows what it means but there's a whistle and they all drop their weapons put their hands in the air uh what happened is yes yes anyone doing anything is everyone just sort of following the instructions of the cops uh hera is lying on the floor bleeding yeah i mean yeah i'm not gonna be lying on the floor but yeah i was more talking to flip and salt just in case uh yeah you wanted an update on that they don't the camera briefly cuts better i wouldn't dare to tell any of you how to do your job but i'm coming peacefully i'm cooperating but also can we manacle up the guy with the sash oh bombs please and they they look over um who currently they can't even really see because he was pushing into the ground his like bellies in the glass um and they who uh hands are up but he's doing like points down with a different area you're like pointing while your hands are up towards him okay cool it's kind of comical looking and one of the guys that was on hera now the hair has been tied up like goes over to hollmont lifts him up by the back of his uh like collar and they see the bandit leer there's a momentary freakout and then i think what he does is he like grabs at the bandit leer and tugs and it's like firmly attached uh i'm sorry it'll take a moment for me to remove that if you don't mind and the guards like stand him up and now a couple of the guards splits them up and over to him as he is like disconnecting the bandit looks it's like it's pretty intricate on the like on his back to make sure that no one can grab the bandit leer mid firefight undoes a couple latches takes it off puts it on the ground puts his hand in the air oh sweet jesus and then there is a moment where guards start coming into the bar um a couple of time to like take out one or two people put them in manacles take out a couple people put them in manacles uh during all of this salt what are you you're in the back no one is spotted you you're just sort of like door cracked um you've seen incommens to make him elitile but like you don't have much you have you just know no that i just want to do no i don't think i i need it but i'm not going to do him any good being locked in the inside so i think he's going to try to make his way out okay so slowly but assuredly uh Hera homo and all of the rascaled members are uh going quietly to be tied up uh flip you are not tied up um initially i don't think they realized that you were a part of the situation they just thought you were another one of the hostages by parrot so no one actually ties you up they just sort of ignore you as they're going through the bar because you're a kid uh what do you do like your hand is still up um but it's become more and more clear as like the companies have gone by that they are ignoring you um first question where's the bandelier uh the bandelier it would be uh it's a rule it was put on the ground i want to see if one of the guards took it or if it's like if they're more focused on capturing people so a um 30 on 201 of the better players so i think uh one of the guards gathered the bandelier and all the weaponry and he's like putting it away in one of the they've got basically it's yeah there's a person that's gathering all the weaponry within the bar so they would have the bandelier the various weaponry from the rascaled members uh Hera's pistol um Holmott had a essentially a hand crossbow that uh shoots bolts um yeah so yeah that was all sort of gathered by uh one of the members of the roll guard all right second question what's uh in the way of me just going out the back going out the back i mean yeah you could go out the back or the front at the moment everyone is ignoring you so like they are it's one of those things where i'm just gonna slink away then okay just uh you here here's gonna try that too okay Hera thinks about it just kidding the person that it's still everyone else would sort of like tied up and like put in a place but Hera is the one that is being very aggressively treated um because she quite literally was caught with through execution i mean you put it in execution where's the ship on unbelievable if these people knew who my father was yeah at no moment is there less than one guard like holding you into the ground basically Hera takes this moment to really think about uh her life decisions what what her life has been thus far uh and how good her intentions were uh at one point uh just kind of doing some mulling over while she's like crushed into the glass even more i mean they don't continue shoving you into the glass once they've got you under control they put you away from the glass they're still holding you like against the ground but they're not just gonna keep shoving you into i'm assuming there's like a knee in a face like i'm sure it's just a fun time right here yeah it's like it's like in the back it's not like onto like you know face in ground or something ridiculous um but it's it's difficult without being you know the worst thing i mean again you literally how to do an execution stand so they are being very cautious with you uh yeah Hera just just size and takes it so is salt still in the back room when he notices flip starting to leave to the back or his salt is dipped out by this point i think you know curiosity you know he's still worried about his team so he's like fuck i need to go back in there so he turns back around and he sees like flips making his way over here so kind of like waves out of like it's over here i this way i have a question when flip starts me entering to the back is flop also like doing like dog quite like the dog salt like essentially what i'm envisioning is when a dog is down something no it's bad and they're like again very submissive hiding the corner but he's he doing that as he's like quietly trying to leave the room is he following your lead yeah okay so yeah he uh he joins you and then the two of you eventually made up in the same the back room yeah i mean that's where we okay what do you guys do all right we uh probably should vacate they might put air on the inside but i might have to uh have another discussion with our friend raspous but maybe on the inside she can get some info but let's get out of here first i didn't like that i didn't like any of that i don't i bet you didn't i saw those bombs i'm hoping by the end of this we put a bullet in that asshole let's go let's go okay so the three of you with flop uh leave out the back door as you head around to the front you can see that more of the guards have shown up to assist um this is a larger incentive initially thought and they've started lining them up to take them to uh various prisons they probably will be too many to fill like you know if you've got just a random local prison you can't suddenly throw in 2030 people it doesn't quite work that way um but they are lining them up to sort of take them elsewhere and the group of you do see that eventually a hair has been stirred up um but she's got uh two or three like two guys are holding her like another one or two nearby in case she uh gets fast or aggressive um dead sort of handle her uh what do you guys do end or hair then you want to do you can but they are very much in control of you but if you want to say or try something you can uh nope hair is uh taking this opportunity to uh say nothing and do nothing okay as is maybe a smart move yeah right smart move but also hair is quiet for the first time in a while it's a moment of growth and reflection yeah yeah yeah it's been a weird day so uh what do the two of you do you see that they are being taken to prison are you guys following waiting what do you do all right we got two options we either follow them or we try to raise hell on the street and try buster out what do you think i think we need to get into the prison anyway so let's just wait till later all right checks out let's let's go behind see which uh when they take a trip they're not gonna have something big enough to house all these idiots all right uh okay maybe we can figure out what was going on uh the prison earlier that there were some guys that went in did they go talk to the to the brass guild and it's i didn't see anything weird but you know i never went inside so maybe getting inside my answer son okay so we've got a handful of leads and they they're all in prisons seems that way but it still strikes me odd that the head honcho of the military police had no idea about a bomb threat in the city if that doesn't feel right to me but we'll figure that out later so just from the two of you guys are sort of following the letting things happen you're not causing a disturbance you're just heading in the direction of the i was made at the scene so if i start causing trouble nearby yeah it's gonna very quickly turn yeah you were not only made it seem like you were like two feet away from the prime suspect i was in so you were in the scene i were you know yeah i'm a good little boy okay so the two and at this point joe has met up with you like what what what happened what's what's going on with her shut up just follow do not cause suspicion you wave once i'm breaking it off he like he does a hand motion where he like zips his mouth with his hands like and he doesn't even know oh that was that was close that was close yeah no things things went well uh in some ways shots weren't fired so that's definitely an improvement over the usual we have a name saying anything but he's looking at flip very confused and like because the moment where he saw hair like holding a man in execution and then flips his things went well and he's just he's looking at you very very cute but he says nothing we're using string to his face where he wants to say something and he makes that motion was like he's about to open his mouth he doesn't joe i don't like this either and i do not want to see her carted off in cuffs but trust me this is probably gonna be the best outcome as much as i hate it i'm gonna be i'm gonna be honest with both of you i'm sort of digging it but like we also have to fix it i mean you know totally off the record you're probably a little bit warranted on some other shit you both of them but yeah you're right well we'll get her back and then it'll be our fault that this happened but for now i'm just enjoying the moment so at previous points in the episode there were there were moments where people felt like unexpected like pride i think there was a moment with hair like for some reason i'm angry at flip right now and i don't feel like expected fury just like just vibing the situation a little bit like okay here's what's gonna happen this is where i'm gonna go uh just thinking through the next few minutes and then just this sudden pang of like fury like she's almost about to like break away and start hitting something and then she's like well that was rational and maybe what it was is you happen to see out of the corner your eye like flip salt and joe walking and you just saw them and then they turn the corner and they're gone and then we cut back to the group of you guys having this conversation as you head you're heading back essentially to the precinct is that correct i assume so whatever this group of arresting officers are going yeah they're most of them are heading there but probably a third of the brass gold numbers are being taken elsewhere because they clearly don't have enough space in there but yeah so most of them are heading that way but some of them are going elsewhere but yeah they're heading back towards the prison which is near the precincts um so i think as you guys are traveling to the precinct let's bring a follow-hara as you are very much manhandled the entire way there you've got you know a person you left person to right and person to do the entire time obviously they've like removed any sort of you know weaponry weapons any sort of gadgets you may have on you i don't know what all you have but it's all but it's all but it's just like i mean yeah anything of sort they have removed from you so if you've got like backup weaponry's nine yeah yeah all of that is been gone and taken off that was all done while you were like pushed into the ground not while you were getting caught by glass but while you were on the ground they were removing all sorts of weaponry from your person yep so you're picked up walked away and we're gonna follow you as you're taken to the prison and i think we'll end this episode with you getting shoved into a cell and the iron door is getting shut and they lock it and we will end it there a lot of a lot of break yeah that's a couple of problems in tight fall
